FOX News Channel/DISH dispute

Those increases would be more, and DISH IS lower cost for the bulk of their subscribers. Why is it people lose sight of that. Charter has no problem going up $8 to $9 which is exactly what they did last time.

Do you honestly believe that Tampa?Dish is as close in price to all their competition than they have ever been,so you're telling me that if Dish didn't do all this posturing, they would be more expensive than all their competitors?I ain't drinking that kool aid anymore.

Regarding Dish being cheap, not really compared to ATT Uverse if you already have their internet product. They almost give their TV service away.. like $40 a month , no contract.

Seriously, where?! U200 would being my Top 200 equiv.

Looking at Uverse prices (once you get through the worst ever put together gauntlet to actually get to the prices) where I'm at, it isn't even close to competitive. It'd be $87 a month and I already have phone and internet. $33 off for 12 months though, and some visa cards (I suppose that is the bundle of love?). But I'd also be stepping down to just a single receiver. The cool part is that my Internet would go up because apparently I'm grandfathered out of a $7 Internet equipment rental fee... which is odd, because I paid upfront for it. So I'd get less, pay more, and have a crappy receiver.

Oh, and regarding price hikes, this was on their site.
Uverse Hikes said:
*Effective 2/1/15, the regular monthly price will be: U-basic-$19/mo.; U-family-$65/mo.; U200-$80/mo.; U200 Latino-$90/mo.;U300-$95/mo.; U300 Latino-$105/mo.;U450-$127/mo.; U450 Latino $137/mo. The Broadcast TV Surcharge will be up to $3.99 in most markets.

I have a two televisions hooked to my 722k and sub to Top 200. Find me a single provider in NE Ohio (Directv included) that can offer just NBCSN and TCM for less than what Dish charges me, excluding promotional discounts but you can include bundles with Uverse.

That is an actual request, because if you are going to be so abrasive against other members, you really need to back it up.

Mine says a free $200 Visa Gift Card. So only $46 a month. No two year lock in, I am gone after 12 months. Dish is $82 with the DVR fee.
Seriously, you didn't see the Gift Card? You can send it to me if you don't want it.

If Fox News goes dark, I suggest watching The Daily Show for content updates.

Yeh, after promo period, U200 w/HD and equipment would cost me$103 (and crap hardware). Dish (w/Hopper w/sling)...$81.00. No thank you.

Yeah... it was the part where I said "and some visa cards (I suppose that is the bundle of love?)."

So after promotions, it is much more expensive... even as a bundle. If I started anew with Dish, there would be cheaper rates too. So promo rates or gift cards don't count.

I'm not bouncing from provider to provider. If I'm abandoning my external drive, it'll be for the long-term elsewhere.

I did the math multiple times in other posts. Go to the direct site, and as one example pick two rooms, two 612 DVR receivers and their package equal to top 250. I pay $15 less with DISH. That's per month. By far more subscribers have the VIP receivers than any other so yes, I believe most save more with DISH. We won't even get into what Charter would be.
That's one example other packages and variations still save.

Oh, and P.S. I would pay a $3 RSN surcharge with Direct TV on my Ct. bill. If you would like some confirmation about that savings ask Sam_Gordon, he posted similar.

Raspberry Kool aid for me please.

I would be gone after 12 months so no price bump. I could also use the $200 to buy a $140 sling player, Then it is back to Dish after a year. Have made no decision yet, watching this Fox News situation play out. Things are very dicey right now. . .

In other words, Uverse would be more expensive in the not so long run.

Interesting, now I don't know what dtv price increase will be yet,but with the added $5 of dish they both come out to $122 before tax for 4 rooms, that's in month 13 no promo with dtv.Just came back from dtv website fyi.

This isn't rocket science, people.

DTV: 2-room Genie system, Xtra (205+) package: 73.99 + 27.00 in equipment fees = 100.99 + ??? increase

Dish: 2-room Hopper system, AT200 package: 69.99 + 19.00 equipment fees = 88.99 + $5 increase
