My wife and I watch so little of the big 4 in prime time that we do not use PTAT.

Same way here. I do have a tuner on one of my Hoppers set for PTAT, but simply to catch shows that are new to see if I happen to like them, which has been slim to none since I have had a Hopper setup.

Set it on for one day and to retain for one day, Then you will have the 4 channel, one tuner feature if you ever need it.

Why do you say that. I have 2 HWS's each with the the dongle. That gives me 8 tuners. As I said, we don't watch very much that would be covered by PTAT. We do watch a lot from PBS and that's not in PTAT and there are no commercials to skip. So before you say what you did, not everyone has your watching habits. So mind your own business!
