After six days of stunting, Townsquare Media has debuted Sasquatch 106.5, Real Classic Rock for the Northland" on W293CT/106.5 (Duluth) and WEBC/560 (Duluth). The new format debuted Tuesday (10/6) at 1 p.m. with an announcement taking swipes at heritage Red Rock Radio Classic Rocker KQDS-FM/94.9 (Duluth). The lineup will include the syndicated Alice Cooper and Bob & Tom shows. WEBC had dropped ESPN Radio last Wednesday as it added the W293CT simulcast, first running all-Christmas and then switching to a repeat of Bro Smith's 1976 "Bigfoot" on Monday afternoon.

KQ95 (KQDS) has been the only classic rocker for years in Duluth. I have heard a couple jabs on 560 about "squashing a sound" (KQ does the secret sound)

No announcers as of right now

It will be nice as it gives me another classic rock station to listen too....and hopefully their playlist is alot more than the same songs.
I dont care if its on AM.....it comes in clear for me

Damn they are playing Metallica right now.......I didnt know they were "classic rock"

I'm always looking for good out of market rock/metal stations especially in greater MN when I travel. After you said "Metallica" I was hoping they were on Iheartradio but found nothing. Took awhile to find this on their site, says station unavailable when you hit play. http://squatchrocks.com/listen-live/ :(

Guess you get to keep it to yourself until I head up north next month.

I'm sure they'll get the kinks out soon. Ironically the only Metallica (or any hard rock) they played was that one song. Everything else has been just classic rock

Try 560 in the daytime. I had it until the sun went down and now I lost it. They have a nightime directional pattern that is NW so I can't get it. Around 7:00 I got a Dave Ramsey show thing

I was Able to listen to 560 all the way to elk river with no issues. Got south of the river( by valleyfair) i still could hear and it sounded like a distant station but I still could hear it.

So far other than the occasional hard rock or alternative song its just like your run-of-the-mill classic rock station

Vallyfair is maybe 10 miles LOS from me in Burnsville. I'll have to give it a try next time I'm in the car. Until we are under 50F here I'm on the bike and I don't have any traditional radios other than the car. A few years back this wouldn't be a problem. I had like a mile of longwire hooked to my Kenwood HF. Every single AM broadcast frequency had something coming in with that setup. On Sundays it was like NFL Sunday Ticket for radio with all the distant markets it would pull in. Maybe when it gets cold and I'm stuck inside I'll get in the attic with a few hundred yards of wire and get that going again.

they have announcers now...but still cant listen online

Havent heard Metallica since the 1st day but heard Pearl Jam (daughter) today and Nirvana yesterday. So they are sprinkling in some 90's stuff

I listened to a couple of songs after I saw your post. The important part of this stations site isn't the online listening, it's the Babe of the day section.:D
I also found this station on an app I already had on my iphone. The radio pup app which I had to listen to a cajun music station out of Louisiana.

I actually heard Rick James Superfreak on the K-Earth internet feed. Didn't know that was oldies. It seems those stations have to air 80's songs now to keep the ratings up. Used to be it was 60's and some early 70's songs on the oldies.

The funny thing is they make fun of KQ95 (the heritage rocker) yet other than KQ playing some oddball songs Sasquatch plays the same classic rock songs as KQ does ;)
