I use the cables that come with item hopper or Joey if it breaks I call dish they send me a new one. LoL I don't see any reason to pay for one. Actually I don't think I have ever needed to call I have a box of brand new ones from all the swap outs they have done over the years.
Very interesting news and honestly the first time that I've seriously considered moving to a Hopper of any form. With that thought in mind, I do have some questions regarding the Hopper 3 that may or may not be answerable at this time.
- The present setup in the house is as follows: One (1) 722k dvr, one (1) 622 dvr receiver, and two (2) 612 dvr receivers. Oh, and one Slingbox HD hooked up to one of the 612's.
With only four televisions in the house I will be more than fine with the 16 tuners on the Hopper 3. However, I do love to use the side-by-side feature on my 722 and 622 receivers. I imagine that I will be able to continue to do such on the TV on which the Hopper 3 is connected. I believe I would have been able to do so on the previous Hopper using a Super Joey. Earlier Scott said that the SJ is not usable with the Hopper 3, so that's not an option.
So... is there a way to watch two tuners side-by-side on a television that is not connected directely to the Hopper 3, i.e. connected with some form of Joey 4k?
- The present 722k has an add-on OTA module that actually supports two OTA tuners. I really like having that option. Earlier Scott mentioned that the Hopper 3 will only support one OTA tuner. Does that mean that the OTA module from the 722 can't be integrated into the Hopper 3? If so, boooo!

Parts Express is 20 minutes from my home or 2 minutes from my work. I get 6' HDMI cables there all the time and they cost a few $ each.
Nope I refuse to pay for them. I pay enough for my tv service they can supply my cables. Plus every six months or so send me a new remote for the heck of it. I like the feeling of a new remote.
You may be able to do this with the new 4K Joeys...Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they are supposed to be capable of PIP.
You will not need any more cabling than what you already have. There is only one cable from the dish to the hub, which would be located at your hub area. From there you have one cable each to your receivers. Your Super Joey will have to be replaced by a Joey.
If you have no knowledge of the Hopper system it is completely different than what you are use to. You may want to look back at some older Hopper threads on here when it was fully explained otherwise someone will explain it shortly.

Your 622 has a fixed tv1 and tv2 tuner that remain tv1 and tv2 as you go. The hopper uses floating tuners that assign themselves to recordings and tvs as they are turned on, and are given up when turned off or taken over by another tv. Being 16 tuners, I would assume that there won't be too many tuners being taken over and changing.
A regular Joey will not have PIP, but I believe the new 4K Joey will be capable of doing PIP.
I heard rumors that it is the same price as a regular Joey. My bet, it will eventually become the standard Joey. No reason for it not to be.
I think I remember reading it would be the same as the Regular/Wireless Joeys, but someone else will have to confirm that one.
Well you could go to DIRECTV or Comcast for your 4K... no wait you can't as they all require the same specs as the programmers specified the requirements for them to be able to offer 4K.
I am told that with the Hopper 3 it will only accept certain model drives.
If you need more storage use an external hard drive.
