We in the New York area pay for regional sports nets like every other market and we get .....

YES? No.
SNY? Sorry
MSG? Missing too.

Meanwhile, ESPN and other superstations are blacked out when our local teams are included.

I'm mainly a frustrated Mets fan. They used to carry SNY until it just disappeared one day. I thought it was another short term outage while they hammered out a deal. That was 3 or 4 years ago. When they were awful, it didn't hurt as much.... Now they are a World Series team, and I want to watch them more regularly, especially on weeknights (a few of their weekend games are on free broadcast TV and ESPN, but blacked out for us).

At the very least we should get a programming discount of a few bucks since we don't GET a regional sports net. I realize they ceded most sports fans to DirecTv years ago, but I'm banging the drum to get them to bring at least SNY back.

I got excited when I heard that a class action suit had made MLB.TV have more consumer friendly terms, with a option for following a single team. As I have an XBox One with an MLB.TV app, I thought my problem was solved, but NOPE. Out of market only. Blackouts still in home markets.

C'mon E*. Can I PLEASE have SNY back? You owe it to New York DMA subscribers to have at least ONE regional sports net.

I have Big Ten with my locals, and I get NY city locals. So not sure what you're talking about.

I've always preferred the equipment and pricing, and since I am mainly a NY Giants and NY Mets fan, I was fine as all the Giant games are on free tv, and they used to carry all the networks that carried Mets games for years (FoxSports NY, SNY). It was only recently that I lost the Mets games. I've been waiting for E* to bring it back, and I'm hoping this thread can trigger at least a conversation on this front, especially since we have no regional sports networks that cover any NY pro sports teams.

I would even solve the problem by paying for MLB.Tv streaming through my xbox to make the problem go away, but they still have their monopoly blackouts for local teams in place.

College sports don't count. And even so, that's a national sports network IMHO.

Is it available?
Yep so that gripe about Big Ten doesn't count.
NY isn't a BIG Ten state.
You think Directv provides all these channel for free.
You pay over $6 extra just for these NY RSNs.

So now you want NY sports, and Big Ten to be national?
And for Free?

Yeah okay.
I understand your gripe about MSG, SNY, YES.
But Big Ten?
It's available already nationally with the proper package.

NJ is!!!!!!!!part of NYC dma

I remember way back in the 90s with the SportsChannel days, they used to charge $10 a channel a la carte, and few subscribed to it.... They made it a $1 and everyone had to get it as built in to the 2nd tier package.... I'm hoping for a similar situation here, as I just reupped with E* for 2 years to get a Hopper3 w/4 Joey upgrade in my house this month. I remember back when George Steingrabber was still vertical, Charlie offered to make YES an optional channel and give them 100% of the revenue, but he blanched, demanding it be in a second tier package at a minimum for all subscribers.

It's just frustrating the hoops you have to go through to watch a pro sports team in the #1 media market.

And where did I say it wasn't?
NY state is not a Big Ten state.

One more time.slooooowly..nj is considered part of NYC dma..thus NYC dma should have big 10 just like every other dma with a big 10 school..in fact nj has more than 50 percent of the viewers in the NYC dma
.New York state has nothing to do with the situation

One more Time NJ is part of the NY DMA, Exactly NY is Not a Big TEN State.
Also all of NJ is NOT ONLY NY DMA, It's also Philadelphia PA DMA.

I in Pa and I have NY city locals and I receive Big TEN network as an RSN.
So again what is your issue?
Maybe go complain to your idiot Governor Christy and get your own market.

FWIW, put me down as desperately wanting the NY area RSNs. At my home, we do utilize the international Greek Package, so moving to another provider (i.e. Cablevision) is a non starter for us. I have learned to live w/out the NY RSNs, but would love for an 'option' to have them back. Why doesn't Dish just offer an ala carte option for NY or any regional RSN package or am I naive?

Love SatGuys btw, keep up the good work ....
