OTHER Generic Dvb-s2 firmware

Wow, did I ever learn some things today! To start with, I now understand the snafu, that happened when I first bought this POS receiver! While I do buy stuff from Ebay, it is because we live 100 miles, one way, from the nearest actual town. We are so far out, that it was only a year and a half ago, that we even got NBC, & PBS via OTA Ant. ;) When i ordered the rec, I got a message saying they were out of stock in CA, and had to have it shipped from China. (Should have been a red flag there!) Since I had repaired the dead power supply, on our CS5000, and found that what few channels it was getting, were no longer even there, I felt we had to have something. Personally, I will not have DTV in my house, to long of a story for right now, but any one who wants to know why, just ask, & I will be glad to tell. I loved NPS, but oh well. So today, while I was looking around for FW options, a ran across a post, by Titanium, from 2014. The post was regarding, so called companies, stealing tech, for instance Dolby, then sneaking the products by customs, as samples! No wonder they were out of stock in CA! (At least when I buy something from Ebay, I click the USA only filter) I had no idea, this was going on, and I am very sorry for even bothering any of you with this! I have seen a bunch of places, that talk about bin files, when I leaned what that was, I did not go back to any of those! In fact, the 2 reasons I joined this forum is, you all seemed to know what you are talking about, and NO bin/iks BS! Now that I know about the Dolby/USB thing, I will be happy to just swap out HDMI cables, as needed to our respective TV's.I do want to thank you all so very much for your help, thanks to you, have have learned a bunch! ;) All of this being said, i now am very curious, and the off topic question i mentioned earlier is. primestrar31, I noticed your location, so then do you live close to the Mighty Mac? AKA the very most TERRIFYING bridge I have ever had the pleasure of driving across! i have some very close friends, that live in Cheboygan. And I have hung out there, Makinaw city, and Levering quit a bit! ;)

I live a bit over 160 miles South of Mackinaw City. I wouldn't say the Mackinac bridge is the scariest I've ever crossed, UNLESS it's on a windy day that isn't quite windy enough for them to shut it down for a while. THEN it's pretty scary! Some years back a woman driving a YUGO had a blast of air propel her right over the side, and down 170 feet to the water. She didn't survive...
