Does your 722K occasionally refuse to play the last part of a recording?

I'm wondering if other 722K owners are still seeing this issue that was first reported many years ago. It just happened to me the other night when trying to watch my primetime Olympics recording. It got about halfway through and then skipped to the end and stopped. I started viewing it again and the same thing happened.

This doesn't happen that often, perhaps once per month, but is very annoying. I had my 722K replaced once for this issue with no change in symptoms.

FWIW, my 722K software version is L842RMKD-N.

Anybody else experience this with their 722K?

Do you have the OTA module installed in your 722K? Sometimes if we record from the TV antenna and from the dish at the same time, the OTA recording is fine but the dish recording does what you mentioned. The DVR shows that the entire dish recording is there, but it plays for a few minutes and then ends. I think it might be a software anomaly that Dish isn't interested in fixing.

To clarify, when the 722K makes a "bad" recording, it will subsequently always stop playback at the exact same point in that recording and skip to the end and stop.

In most cases of this happening (no matter which DISH DVR) you can fast forward past the point that it skips to the end and then be able to watch the rest of the recording.

Sorry, I beg to differ - that simply hasn't been my experience. I've had this happen to me about 50 times over the past 10 (?) years, and only once or twice could I fast forward past the point and play. In all other cases, the fast forward immediately jumped from the trouble spot to the end of the recording in the same way that normal playback jumped to the end of the recording.

I see this occasionally on my 722k receiver. I even swapped out an OTA Module for a new one and it still does it.

Add me to the list, I have a VIP 722k (I bought from Greczkowski). As DISH is pushing the "Hopper" equipment I do not think they will spend anytime fixing this.

I've had DISH since mid 1990s and have had too many boxes already. Early on DISH was the leader but they fell behind in adding HD and now in 4k. So based on experience I really don’t expect DISH to ever fix this “issue”.

For my part, the 722k generally does what I need (execpt when it refuses to play the last part of a recording). So I will be putting up with this "issue" until I drop DISH or I drop.
