NFL Sunday ticket deals/offers 2016...

Um, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon are still giving deals to sign up or renew after a period of time. My wife is still using a Galaxy S4 that she bought brand new in 2013 or 14 or whenever it came out. AT&T won't even throw her a bone on any of the "lower desired" models. I'm not saying she should get a brand new iPhone for $100, but telling us that a Motorola for $18 to $20 a month for 30 months is a deal, is freaking rediculous.

So sir, that's where I'm coming from. AT&T are taking people for rides. The others are a bit better with giving deals to their customers. Read my post again. I said with Directv, I believe AT&T would have Directv's historically nice deals PHASED OUT!!! "Slowly disappear", or something to that nature.

I'm not bashing Directv, I'm simply saying that AT&T, in the cell service department, has gone down hill with giving good offers, to which I believe will reflect on their practices with their new property (Directv) in the future.
I prefer the 2 year contract for cell phones ... new current were talking ...
I still believe that you don't get 2 yr deals at Verizon or Sprint anymore .... When I was with Sprint several years ago they were absolutely terrible ...
I was paying $108 a month for 1 smart phone ... I'm the only one in this household ... they would give deals if you did more phones.
Neighbor was paying like 130 for 3 phones while I was 100 for 1.
They ran promos of getting everything for $60, but wouldn't do it for me because I was in a contract.
They were also the ones that pushed an extra $10 a month fee for Smart Phones, for the right to use thier 4G service, it didn't matter that you were not in a 4G area, they charged you anyways ...
Not that was BS.

By the way I was with them for 20 years never once got a deal from them ....

When I called to cancel, they said, OK, well cancel that for you and hung up.
Never tried to keep me .... I never missed a bill in 20 years and it got me NOTHING.

Now tell me att is worse.

Was offered $35 a month for 6 months. They said I could get it cheaper with streaming to a smart phone or device. Don't own a tablet and watching it on a cell phone instead of an HD set is pretty dumb. Will also call back in a week to see it they will budge. The first installment showed up on my bill and I had them remove it and be credited back. It's been easy for the last couple of years, no so much this year. I am afraid to threaten to cancel and go to cable, they would probably cancel my subscription. I pay around $160 a month but would save allot more with video/internet/phone from the Cable Co. You would think being a subscriber since 1999 and paying quite a bit a month they would want to save a customer. With DISH having subs running away at about the speed of light, with AT&T buying DirecTV I would think they would want to keep every sub from dropping them in favor of streaming.

I got the ST basic at 20% off plus $40 off a month for a year and free HBO for 3 months. This is on top of the $50 off a month I already have.

After the ST pricing rolls off, my bill will be $48 a month.

Just got it for free. Wasn't expecting it. Was expecting the $9 off like I usually get. Spoke to a very nice person and she did a complete review of my account and saved me about $85 for the next 6 months. No complaints here. I guess it's time to play Russian roulette and see what you can get.

I was able to get the Sunday Ticket for free plus an additional $40 off monthly bill. This is on top of the $35 month savings I already had. It took a few calls to get the right person to talk with. I told them that my contract expires in Sept and plan to cancel at that time but wanted to know what offers could be provided to convince me otherwise. They came back with the $40 off for one year first. I countered that I could be convinced if they provided the Sunday Ticket for free as well. The nice gentleman put me on hold for several minutes and when he came back he said ok with one year contract. I said deal.

I was able to get NFLST MAX for free for 2016. Have a contract that goes through June 2017. Shared with the CSR that DISH is offering a $200 VISA card if you sign up, so I was looking into switching to DISH (they have RED ZONE) and paying less per month total. I asked what my cancellation fee would be ($180). I figured the VISA card would cover the fee if it came to that. There was a long pause and then the CSR asked if I would be interested in NFL ST MAX for free for 2016 to stay. I said YES PLEASE. They added it as one time charge of $359.94 and applied a $359.94 credit.

I was starting to have my doubts on getting free again this year (now 6 straight years), as this was my 5th attempt in August. The other times I was looking for the same deal as last few years (add 1 year to contract, get free ST), but kept being told no such options available. I don't know if the free option just opened up, but only took 1 CSR today.

You got ST Free for 5 years now and you were gonna leave if they didn't give it to you again ?

No wonder some people have trouble getting any deals.
You'd think they would look at your account and say, you've had enough discounts over the years.

Utilities like internet, cell service and TV service are all bottom-line business for me. Want to pay as little as possible and get maximum return. These companies are not charities - they exist to make as much money as the market allows. Just as when buying a car, the asking price is negotiable. They can sell for top dollar to those willing to pay it, or at a lower price to those who won't if they choose. Thankfully, in a free market, you are not stuck paying whatever the service provider want to charge. No company ever has to lower a price for anything - it is up to them if it is worth it to keep an inflated price or not. It is my responsibility to my financial standing to pay as little as possible if I have the option.

I think I saw this mentioned elsewhere, but all DirecTV accounts have a range (it varies) of discounts available. Some are as high as $500/year, others less. I am not sure what they use for determining them, but paying full price for a service when you don't have to is silly. For someone to pay full price for a service, it usually comes down to lack of attention or lack of financial awareness.

Jimbo - you are a Buckeye. Get thee some free Sunday Ticket!

just called in to check my upgrade options (none tat i liked)
was offered ST for 4 payments of 24.99, as well as either $25 off a month for 24 month, or 40 off a month fo 12 months
with no commitment
if i wanted a 2 year commitment they had other options
i only went with the $25 off for 24 months at this time

I couldn't get a deal on NFLST, so I asked the price for stand alone Red Zone....she told me I have to subscribe to NFLST to get Red Zone!

Now THAT sucks.

I think they pulled the plug on free redzone through retention, I've note read a single post of someone getting redzone standalone this year, and it has been very common in previous years well before this time.

Do you have a low priced package also, or is it just all your discounts.

I have choice extra classic at 84.49, 5 tv's, HD, prot plan, and whole home dvr service for an additional 48.99.

I am considering calling back to try to get STMAX for no additional cost after reading some of these posts. I am still not under contract.

just start with a simple inquire as to your contract end date. this sill trigger an escalation to someone that can do more for you.
are you under contract?

Sounds like your doing pretty good, already. Thanks, for the reply.

I had already gotten the Sunday Ticket for $9 off/mo, and called to see if there were any specials on premium packages. There weren't really any appealing ones, but she DID offer ST MAX for free. Definitely took that one.
