Hopper 3 w/Sling (Dishanywhere) slow bitrate on Windows PC's, okay on phone

I am having a problem with Dish Anywhere. I believe it recently updated and the speed has gone done from about 8Mb/sec to 48Kb/sec. I can use my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) and the bit rate is perfectly fine. This is on the same Internet connection.

I even took a brand new Dell PC out of the box and installed the latest sling player and it behaves identically. My upstream is just under 1Gb at the Hopper. I am pretty confident that the upstream is not an issue since video is perfectly fine on my phone.

Anyone have any ideas (other than the new slingplayer software is broken)?

One thing you can do is try a different web browser. I currently use both Firefox and Microsoft Edge and am not experiencing any problems. Also, resetting your modem/router, the Dish receiver, then your computer sometimes helps.

I've reset the router at both ends, although again it works fine with the phone app. This would eliminate the routers as an issue. The Dish receiver has also been reset, although again the problem would seem to lie elsewhere.

I'll use another browser, but the problem doesn't appear to lie there, either. The browser just launches the DishAnywhere application that is in the system tray..

Tried a different browser and had the same results. This was 1 minute after using the phone app without any issues. This is on the same router.. I even tried a different PC (new out of the box).

You can try going into Windows control panel and uninstall DishAnywhereDestop, SlingPlayer for Web, and Dish Anywhere Video Player (you might not have all of those). The next time that you use Dish Anywhere on your web browser it will reinstall the appropriate software.

Yes. I've tried that and also took a new Dell Optiplex 9020 out of the box and did nothing but install the Slingplayer/DishAnywhere software (after completing the initial setup). That helped me eliminate any software interaction that was out of the ordinary, file corruption and PC issue. It seems like the problem started with the latest slingplayer update (I wonder if it possible to get an older copy of the software). I wonder if the update has an issue because my home internet is too fast (this would be ironic).

That's funny! I doubt that is the problem. How fast is your internet?

Have you tried to ping the Dish receiver from the computer that is having the issue?

For me, Dish Anywhere has been working fine on both my desktop and laptop computers. When I am at home on my network, I usually get about 8.2Mbps. When out of the house, I usually get about 5-6Mbps, which corresponds with my internet upload speed.

I have just under 1 Gigabit upstream (actually downstream as well). I've tested this quite a few times (different days and times) and average about 930 Megabits with little deviation. You just never know if someone put in some code that doesn't convert very well (like the Mars Climate Orbiter that crashed because someone did the wrong metric conversion)..
