Any word on Dish price increases?

Anything on Equipment charges?
If $5 is all we are facing, I would agree we dodged a big one.
But the locals should be aloud to be removed if one wanted.

I'm also curious to see how this $10 locals plays out with my Price lock promo.
I wonder if everything stays the same, and they just give me another credit of $5 under the new pricing.

Agree completely. I already made the comment in a previous post about the Comcast, U-Verse, and DirecTV increases and those were all greater than $5 when you combine the RSN, Local, package, and equipment fee increases.

I think that if you have agreed to a price lock, you will not see an increase or decrease for the two year period. Locks do not work one way.

I think that is what will happen too.

And now that paragraph in the new contract we signed about if you switch it will be at the 'current' pricing probably was there so if you do switch to another level that could be part of that deal, you'll still get the $10 core discount, but it will be against the new pricing vice the current. Or maybe I'm wrong... :)

Well not true, you have to read the fine print.
Mine only locks the Basepackage top 120+ ,200 ,250.
If I go to the Flex pack I lose a $15 credit which would be my Basepackage price freeze.
And my Equipment and DVR fees.
Would stay locked, which was $12 is now $15.
Essentially $30 in credits

But doesn't say anything about a Locals fee, or Protection plan or anything else Dish may call it.

This really only makes sense if they are going to make an option for cancelling out of locals.
I agree. Other than having the locals available in a storm, it has no other purpose IMO. I have OTA now for a couple stations during foul weather, but the indoor antenna is only connected to the TV because if it is stormy weather I'm not gonna be worried about DVR functionality.

Dual Tuner OTA Tuner for the Hopper and Wally coming in February. :)

Whoa there Nelly (not you Scott...) :)

Dual Tuner OTA device coming in February. Dual tuner function expected May 2017. I'm going to call B.S. on this, right here right now.

I hope Dish breaks from their typical vaporware of features on their equipment we've all seen before, coming soooooooooooon. (cough cough Joey 4k Netflix)

Cable has been breaking out local and RSN fees for years and they don't let you drop them either. This is just a fancy way of presenting the annual price increase and claiming "look, it's not our fault."

"Customers who signed up for DISH with an introductory 1-year savings offer on or after 2/16/2016 will continue to receive the same price on their core package.
Customers who signed up for DISH with a 2- or 3-year TV Price guarantee or who are enrolled in the renewal offer will continue to receive the same price on their core package.
Upon the conclusion of the offer period, customers will begin paying the then-current package price."

I think there will be confusion until the bills start coming and we can see for ourselves.

Take notice the core packages are reduced by $5. This makes the overall increase $5 instead of $10.

So welcome pack stays at $19.99, but does it continue to include locals ??
That is a good question. In the chart linked in post number 93, Welcome Pack is listed the same way as Flex Pack. So, either the locals will now automatically be included in Flex Pack (which makes no sense, since the Locals Pack is still listed as a separate add-on) or Welcome Pack no longer includes the locals, or at least has the option to drop them, just like Flex Pack.

Too bad Dish never offered a Renewal Offer for Welcome Pack, Smart Pack, or Dish America. :(

I hope that is not the case
