Dish is cranking out updates all of a sudden. The Hopper 3 just got U334 and one change is the addition of a manual s/w update button. If you select that button, it will upgrade the s/w to U336.

I do see the addition of the Accessibility menu. I think it was JSheridan that pointed out that providers have to be in compliance by Dec 20th, so it looks like they squeaked it in just in time.

Not sure what else may be new yet.

Let us know if you Notice anything.

I hear that you shouldn't order any VOD with 336. :)

Also some TV's might report HDMI HDCP errors on 336 too... so only update if you want the Accessibility features (or your external hard drives to work)

But there is no way to go back to 334 if you upgrade so choose wisely. :) Red pill or Blue Pill. :D

I like On demand so thanks for the heads up.
I'll stay with 334.

scott mine has done that also i get hdmi hdcp and the only way you can get rid of it is to reset your receiver there is also a 3 to 5 second audio dropout especially when you use any of the apps are changing channels.

Is that 334?
yes it was doing that on 334 my receiver was updated to 336 at 6:20am CSt this morning while i was sleeping i do not mind dish doing updates on the hopper 3 doing two in a week is kind of unusual.also when they updated to U336 now you have to manually add the youtube app back into the guide whick 334 corrected this in the first place.hey didn't dish hire a bunch of software people back in june?

Yeah, they hired a bunch of software engineers in June. They have some of them working on U334, some on u335, some on U336, and some on U337. Why else would each release break something else.:biggrin

and we rarely order VOD so no worries here....
First off, the important part:

Star Wars, I through VI, are available via OnDemand, for free currently

That said, I downloaded all (6) of them. Well, the first (3) finished before I went to bed, but they were successful. Now, and this is Dish's fault for creating this cluster****, do you mean "VOD", as in the ones available on channel 501 (?) or all "video on demand" ?

The only ones I'm worried about are the Premium channel on demand.
I watch a lot of series from HBO and Showtime.
