MAV TV

Wasn't dish and lucas oil company got into a big argument or fight over the price for MAVTV? and Dish pulled the channel i wonder how many folks would like to get their motorsports kick back for the one channel.Since NASCAR is back on fox i would like to see this channel back and may be dish could add shortstv also too.

What does ShortsTV have to do with automobile programming?

I wonder if Dish will ever get MAV TV back on their lineup? I would hate to have to move to Direct TV just for this one channel, but I may do just that. It seems like no one cares about motorsports on TV any more.

I would say if that one SD channel on Directv is the deciding factor no reason to wait to switch. While we have no idea one way or the other I don't see MAV tv coming back when the trend is many lowly watched channels ending or being dropped.

I would never change providers over just one channel

Well, certainly one channel that is low viewership and niche content and upsetting the family who like whatever MVPD they have now. I would certainly have a Slingbox feed me MAV TV if I really wanted it that badly, or have a buddy include me in his "household" to sing on to stream from his MVPD service on a mobile device and then cast it to the big TV and watch it that way.

You do realize ShortsTV is just one rung on the ladder above a home shopping channel? Do you ever watch any of these channels that you always want added?

We actually had Shorts, in HD, on Dish in the past. It was a pretty cool channel if you are interested in the short film genre. There was limited programming and it was not a well watched channel so Dish removed it. I don't see that returning no matter how much our friend wants it.

I complained as well when they dumped it. Dish didn't even bother to talk or negotiate with them, according to what I heard in response. Very unlikely this channel will ever return to dish. I considered switching as well for it, then realized it was in sd only. Was the only channel to air supermodified racing from NY state. Realize this channel was for a small minority of racing fans, but it really was a unique channel and and loss to anyone that's interested in the many smaller tracks and sports that this channel aired.

And to that point, it may be TOTALLY moot for the OP, if MAV ends up shutting down entirely in the near future...which at the rate some of these 2nd/3rd tier channels are dying off, would not surprise me at all... ;)

I went from DirecTV to Dish so I could get standalone Red Zone Channel without the expense of Sunday Ticket Maxx and Epix premium network...

That is in a different league (get it... :) ) than switching for an SD channel that may or may not be around and there are ways to still get it's programming. Saving hundreds to get what many really want - Red Zone for a meager cost makes sense to me.

If it makes you feel any better, the few times I've tried watching something on MAV TV on DirecTV, it looked really terrible.
