"Welcome to your new entertainment experience. Select "Learn More" to take a tour of your enhanced Hopper." "May God have Mercy on your soul. WE won't!"

Of course, after I calmed down, and got SWMBO to come see the tour, it vanished.

Except, MAYBE the 30 second skip ahead is faster.

I GUESS today is 7/12/17 on the COLORADO CALENDAR!

I like the new CUI but it's definitely slower. Also seems to take up more space on the hard drive. I went from 12% full to 18% after installing. Anyone else notice that?

Did you have Prime Time Anytime turned on before the update? If not, you might want to check whether it's turned on now... Stupid Dish...

The space reported is strictly recordings (including PTAT, rentals, etc). The only way the new s/w would impact "your" space was if Dish re-sized the "user" partition (where recordings are kept) as part of the update and this is unlikely they would do. Too much risk of losing customer's recordings. Plus, they would only have to re-size it if the /system partition was too small.

Your right. I finally figured out that PTAT was turned on by default with the new system. That was what was taking up the extra space.

Came home from vacation tonight to find the same message on my MBR HWS. Took the tour quickly. Too tired to watch and too tired to check the other HWS and 3 Joeys.

I just received the new CUI on both my HWS's. I have to admit after reading these forums I was pretty apprehensive but now that I have them I haven't noticed any major or deal breaking issues.
The system is a little slower but not enough to matter to me or the wife, we actually prefer the new guide to the old one.

After using the new CUI for a couple of days, I have to admit that it is better than I was expecting. It is a little slower on my HWS, but it is definitely acceptable, and by no means would I call it slow. I do like the look of the new CUI, and I like the darker "modern" appearance better than the "classic" look.

I like the older 3 hour guide better, but that is subjective, and as athek posted, some like the new guide better. I miss 4X FF and I am stumped as to why Dish did not include 4X in the CUI (virtually no additional programming required to include 4X). One thing I learned from years of programming, is that people do not like it when you remove a feature. It is OK to add new features, but removing old ones always gets a lot of people complaining. I like the older DVR recordings display better. It showed more icons on the screen and had less wasted space than with the CUI. I also like the channel browsing display better on the older interface. The new channel browser display is too big and opaque as compared to the older one. Also, some actions take more button presses than it did before, but that is because they included more options, so that is acceptable.

Overall, I would still choose the older interface, but I am not upset at all about the new interface. I have not had any problems with the new CUI. Maybe that is because I waited over a year (as long as possible) before updating to the CUI (Dish has had a long time to fix problems with the CUI).

Two main problems, for me:
-Can't shift a recording to HWS2 when all the tuners on HWS1 are busy. I wonder if Dish decided that feature wasn't used enough.
-Loss of 4X FF. Jumped to 15X? Really?

We went out of town immediately after noticing the "update." Haven't fiddled with it much, or checked to see if the other HWS got it. I must assume it did.

The shorter EPG, slower operation and moving the info to the right hand side are all irritants, but I'll get accustomed. The two above will remain irritants.

And right, Dish has had a long time to fix the CUI features. I'd think there were no such plans at this point, save for Scott's comments.

I did test and see that DA works just fine with the CUI from our RV in Almost Heaven.
