What kind of collusion was involved when Brady was suspended 4 games for deflategate? He got caught and he paid the price.

Only problem I had with it was the fact that it took over a year to deal with ....
Once again the Steelers were involved, the Pats were scheduled to play the Steelers and suddenly the suspension was upheld.
Then the Gronk thing happened this year, again, Gronk got a 1 game (should have been about 4), except they had the Steelers on the schedule a week later, so Gronk missed 1 game, and was ready for the Steelers game, which the Pats won thanks in a big part Gronk playing ...

The NFL will dole out whatever they need to as long as it doesn't effect the Pats and another top team.

Not a conspiracy about the Steelers at all.
I just pointed out that everytime a Pats player gets any kind of discipline against them, you can assure they will be back in time to play them.

Its more with the NFL and the Pats, making sure that they are at full strength.

Yeah, sure. Makes wanting to suspend the most popular QB in the league for 4 games make a whole lot of sense when there was enough doubt for that to all go away if they wanted it to. Gronk was also not a repeat offender, and could have just been fined (I expected the suspension to be overturned).

Also, it was Brady himself that dropped the appeal.

There are a lot of coincidences like what you're citing if you look for them. Just this year, the Chiefs seemed to get a lot of teams as they turned things around. Particularly the Steeler game (a short time after they lost to the Bears), the Bills decided to experiment at QB the week before the Chiefs (which kept the Chargers in the playoff hunt for weeks longer than they would have been otherwise if they'd have lost), Crabtree's suspension was shortened and allowed him to play agains the Chiefs and Zeke was reinstated just in the nick of time for the Chiefs game before he was shut down by his failed appeal. They were victimized by the catch rule also.

The difference though is understanding that any given Sunday these are the dynamics at play. No single person has the kind of influence you are suggesting, you have to oversimplify a lot of things (as well as pretending the CBA doesn't exist) to accomplish the kind of conspiracy you're sold on.

Wonder what his ESPN buy-out is. He has a contract good until 2021. Word is he's getting $6.5M/year now, so $10M/year isn't that much of a raise. Still, it would be nice for me to get that kind of a raise.

Not sure, but I did read/hear somewhere that it's guaranteed and it's back loaded because they're still paying Del Rio for a few years, and Nevada's more favorable state income tax situation will benefit Gruden after the move to Vegas....

Saints actually got it going in the 4th quarter and took the lead, only to lose it when on the last play all they had to do was make a tackle, not a crushing hit to jar the ball loose .... and whiffed on the tackle entirely and the recvr waltzed 30 some yards to the end zone to win it.

Re: Gruden's contract, it's even sweeter once they move to Vegas, due to no state tax. It's likely lighter on the first couple of years to take advantage of that. And the 4 year deal for coordinators should ensure some stability going into and after relocation. Good stuff all around.
