Hey guys, just a quick question about having one box output to two T.V's. Having a big superbowl party this Sunday, and was wondering if my HR 44 would output the game to a second T.V. and have them both pretty much synced? Would it be possible to hook up the HDMI and the red green blue cables on the HR 44? Or is it possible to split the coax cable, and send the other signal to the box that is usually on that T.V.? The other box would be an hd 25. I'm putting both T.V's in the same room. Thanks in advance for any help..

If you have an H25 and an HR44 in your setup, why would you need to split the signal?

Because I actually want both T.V's close to one another. One pointing in one direction, and the other in another direction. I'm taking the second t.v from a room on the other side of the house. I have plenty of coax cable to make the run, but wouldn't want people tripping over the cord. That's why I need to signals coming out of the one box. Both t.v's will be tuned to the same channel.

IIRC, you can't use both outputs simultaneously anymore. Anyone else tried this lately?

Thanks Rauol. But can I put a splitter in the coax going to the hr 44, and then put the other coax coming out of the splitter to the Hd 25?

YES, IF its the SWM splitter.

Last time I checked, Yes, you can use the HDMI and the Composite out put at the same time.

Just get a powered HDMI splitter and use the 1 receiver. Easy, simple, TVs in sync, no other splitters needed, no setting up receivers, no coax, nothing to trip over, no problems with copyright protection issues that you usually get when you use the HDMI and red, green, blue (component) cables together.

As long as you have two receivers/dvrs, using a swm splitter would be the cheapest and easiest way to go. That's assuming you can get one in time.

I've got an HR24 and an HR44 both in my living room. Both have an powered HDMI splitter hooked up to them and I use the component (blue, green, red cable) on each DVR. This means I have 6 TV hookups (3 from each DVR). The living room TV is hooked to both DVR's and I have 4 remote bedrooms hooked up. This means 2 people can watch D* in any different combination of rooms. All 6 actually work simultaneously, but you can only have 2 different channels as each DVR outputs to 3 TV's. Works very well for 2 different viewers at a time in a combination of 5 different rooms.

If you split the cable and have two different boxes feeding each TV they won't be exactly in sync. The easiest way is to utilize the multiple outputs
(HDMI, Component, Composite) from the same box to feed each of the two TVs .... it's called "mirroring". ;)
