OTA Stations Program Guide Issue After Repack

This might be a bit off topic, but I can't find anything when the Chicago market is going to re-pack. Presuming I'm looking at RabbitEars correctly, it looks like changes are coming. Anyone in the area have any information on this so I know when to re-scan?

I noticed a week or so ago that 26.3 (MeTV) has no guide data but all the other 26.x channels still do. I'm presuming that a re-pack did not cause this but who knows.

I think most stations do not have a final plan or timeline for the repack. I’ll bet they are still trying to figure out what to do, if anything.

Well today WDCW and WFDC started channel sharing and a similar thing happened 50-1 which should be the CW affiliate here shows program info for WFDC's main channel. I know report it to DISH>

I live in the DC area and am seeing the same issue. Re-scanning is actually what breaks the guide data. But after they re-packed, you had to re-scan to receive the channel at all. For now I am using the CW station in Baltimore.

According to Rabbit Ears I see several stations in the Chicago area that are either going off or re-packing. Portland OR is going to repack several, but we should lose any channels.

Dish recently revamped their forum. Here is the link to the thread on the new forum: Re: Guide issues - please post here - Page 25 - mydish communities

I went to the link mentioned but did not see any way to sign in. Eventually went to my Dish account & was able to access after updating my profile. I posted a message & logged out, but cannot sign in again.

I clicked on Help & it said to "Click Sign In at the top of any page". Problem is there is no "Sign In" anywhere. I find the site difficult to navigate.

How the heck do you sign in?

Did you mean we should NOT lose any channels? Including sub channels?

I just click on the circle with a person in it, in the upper-right corner, next to where it says "Help." I must have accidentally selected "Keep me signed in" when I registered for the new site, because I no longer have to enter my login information.

I think with 3.0 on the horizon, we will get more sub channels. Much more room will be available. Two CE's from Portland TV stations told me they plan to add more channels once they go 3.0.
With the repacking deadline and 3.0 starting up we may have little to no loss in stations.

Huh? I thought that the whole reason for the repack (and the reason why the repack is even possible in the first place) was because the broadcasters aren't even using all of the bandwidth they have available now. Making room for more channels does not necessarily mean that room will be used. I look at how long it took for some of my local stations to launch any subchannels in the first place, and how few subchannels most stations currently have. If broadcasters had been more agressive at using their bandwidth and launching more subchannels, then the repack might not have happened at all. Or, at least they might not have been crammed into as small of a channel range. The repack is basically the FCC's way of telling the broadcasters "use it [the bandwidth] or lose it."

Thanks -
That works now, but earlier I tried several times & got an error message. I don't recall what it said but it was in something like 20 point white font on a gray baclground. It works now though. Hopefully someone at Dish will take action but am not counting on it.

They’ll have more room for subchannels or for UHD broadcast, if they so choose. Some broadcasters choose a higher quality picture on their .1 channel instead of subchannels (many CBS stations are an example of this). Again, an invitation to join us over on the Rabbitears forum is extended to you... this topic is being discussed right now at length ;)

It's been about a month now since the DC/Baltimore area repacked some OTA channels. And still, the OTA guide is incorrect.
