So, even the format button on the Dish remote won't fix the OP's problem? Jeez, that bad. I used to run from analog RF output for some time, even into my TiVo's for ocassional recording from non-dvr Dish STB's but not in years and certainly not with the H3.

Yeah, every company is "dumping" true compatability for legacy formats such as analog output in legacy formats, mostly because of the cost. I am still lamenting the removal of S-VHS outputs because they have easily superior PQ when connected to a S-VHS input and look great on S-VHS VCR's I still have and use on ocassion. It makes all the differnce in the world. I have a number of apps that no longer run on my Jellybean and KitKat tablets that, otherwise, still work very well as tablets, but each app seems to die one by one with messges stating that the OS is too old to run latest version of app and, even worse, the old App is no longer supported by developer and has been killed and only the latest version functions. Yeah, I have later OS tablets, even a 7.0 Nouget, but it still hurts when an old, but perfectly good tablet won't be supported. Yes, I've researched "how to use your old tablet for all sorts of thngs other then a tablet," but It's as if we are all supposed to spend all that money again to update all our hardware. I feel your pain, OP. I hope you get things to work as you want them to.

I think I would wean myself off of RF modulators if the Hoppers had sync capability for recordings to other TVs. Most of the misc TVs in my home have Joeys now. If my two Hopper 3s could sync recordings to the Joeys I would be a happy camper. It would be a nice feature to add to the Hopper system. It is nice to be able to enjoy a recording together with someone else in two different locations. Also, for myself, I use a wireless headset. I can watch a recording from several TVs in my home as I roam around performing house duties.
