The company, which owns satellite television service DirecTV, lost 187,000 traditional U.S. video customers, fewer than the 257,000 customers analysts had expected them to lose, according to research firm FactSet.

As more viewers seek to cut pay-TV packages, AT&T added 312,000 customers to its DirecTV Now streaming service.

The 187K losses includes both Uverse TV and satellite. I wish they'd broken them out, because they are not doing much of anything to sell Uverse TV to new customers and it has been losing subscribers since they bought Directv. Is it possible they actually added satellite customers and don't want questions from analysts about that when they are trying to tell a story about how they're all in on OTT?

They did break out the numbers between DirecTV and Uverse-

DIRECTV lost a net of 188,000 subscribers in the first quarter while AT&T’s U-Verse gained a net of 1,000 in the time period, AT&T announced today.

Wow odd that U-verse added customers, with as quickly as they had it shedding customers the first couple years it looked like they were on pace to get it down to zero in 4-5 years.
