Dunno, my 1st H3 has been running 2 years w/o problems.
I would assume, like most electronics with a spinning hard drive, the hard drive is the most likely failure.
Basic electronics, assuming they last the first couple of weeks, will last forever.

Hard drive failure, and overheating due to poor circulation/placement are the primary culprits.
