I am a bit confused as to which HDMI input I should use when connecting my H3 to my new Sony XBR-55X900F TV. According to the manual only #2 and #3 HDMI inputs are good for 18 G bps input.
Do I need to use a 18 G bps input for my H3 connection. Or will the other HDMI #1 or #4 inputs work just as well for the H3 ? According to the manual all four of the HDMI inputs are good for 4K.

The only thing I would stay away from is not using the HDMI input with ARC since that should go to your AV Receiver (even if you don't have one, I'd leave it open just in case).

Yeah the HDMI #3 is the ARC input and I will save that for the soundbar.

I have the 65 inch version. My Hopper 3 is on hdmi 1. I have an Xbox one x on 2 and sound bar on 3 arc. 2 and 3 can do the enhanced hdmi signal format where you hit home on the remote, go all the way down to settings and to external inputs. That would benefit 4K hdr gaming or a 4K blue ray maybe 4K hdr content on Netflix or 4K hdr on Dish I’m not sure. All inputs are 4K though like stated.

I have the 900e, Ports 1 or 4 will support everything the H3 can output. Enhanced Mode is only required for 60fps/4:4:4 color depth, something the H3 does not do. I had no issues with the Olympics 4K HDR broadcasts using Port 1.

Use Port 3 (ARC/CEC) for your AVR or Soundbar to allow the built-in apps to send sound to the AVR.
Reserve Port 2 for Computer or Console gaming as these devices are most likely to need the additional bandwidth
Port 1/4 can be used for your STB AKA H3 and an 4K UHD Bluray device.
