Charge! Will not launch on WADF when Nexstar takes over that Station from Tribune.
I'm sure you meant WDAF.

Charge! is a Sinclair property but WSBK is a CBS-owned station so is it not possible that a Nexstar or Tribune channel might carry it?

The distribution of channels in the KC market is really funky. Rabbitears.info says their ABC is 1080i.

I think it is 1080i. Only Fox still uses 720p, correct?

In Kansas City's market, nearly all of our .1 channels are high bitrate (over 10 Mb/s) which gives us an excellent picture.

ABC, Fox, My Network TV, and ION use 720p. CBS, NBC, PBS, and CW use 1080i (except that CW+, in smaller markets, is fed in 720p).

Hearst's ABC stations are converted to 1080i, for whatever reason.

Yep, Here in Albuquerque's TV market we have KOAT-DT converts from 720p to 1080i probably due due local news cameras in 1080i and 1080i satellite non ABC Network feeds.

Must be certain trades off on video format and quality.:)

Yes but WDAF Fox4kc has TBD that's on Sinclair stations. None of Nexstar stations have Antenna TV and This TV that's also KCKS-LD. Hearst and Meredith Stations only have one Sub Channel at moment.

TBD is a Sinclair property so it isn't surprising that it is on Sinclair stations.

Some stations have recognized that quality counts for something and having 13 channels on a single carrier is perhaps a waste of energy.

Until DTV is replaced, more subchannels is not better. Getting wadded up over what you don't have is also a losing proposition.
