That temporary fix has been known for quite a while and worked until very recently. Then it didn't. Now it does again. Even default works again for me. YMMV.

Nothing works, nothing. There is no fix. The issue must be resolved between TCM and Dish and others affected.

Well praise the Lord! I tried the fix one more time and viola! the captions appeared. I have done this half a dozen times with no success but this time it worked. Now the question is for how long.

Someone posted on a thread that Game Show network lost it's CC. Dish team said it was working on it.

Just curious, but from a technical standpoint, how can it only affect a few providers? Isn't the same signal hitting everyone?

Same signal but very different varying receiving equipment. In theory if it works with one it should work with all but there are so many things electronically going on that a sequence difference or just not following protocols exactly can result in something not working. I had a Polaroid TV that would make my VIP receivers reset when I changed the channel. It was a handshake issue obviously not with DISH since it works with any other TV just fine.

How was it connected? HDMI or component

The biggest issue I ever had was copywrite protection on a old DLP tv
