The YouTube TV Thread

Got a new update on two of my 2018 Roku Ultras yesterday for YTTV. No new features that I can tell but a big boost in speed. Comparable to the 2019 Roku Ultra now.

YES Network is gone, but they noted that some Sinclair Fox Sports RSNs stayed. Does anyone have a list?

I asked around can confirm as of now Prime Ticket/West are also gone.

Still there:
San Diego
Southwest
South/South East
Ohio/Sportstime Ohio
Detroit
Florida/Sun Sports
Midwest
North

So it seems only NY and LA lost their RSNs, not sure if that will change later today or not.

I'm losing Fox Sports West, but I still have Fox Sports San Diego. Fox Sports San Diego actually airs some of the same content as Fox Sports West, including the Clippers and Ducks, so I almost never watched FS West. I'm mainly losing LA Kings games, I believe. In fact, except for NHL fans and Clippers fans, I don't really see Los Angeles losing its Fox RSNs as being a huge loss. It's not like they carry Dodgers or Lakers games, which only air on proprietary cable channels in the region. And the two major colleges (USC and UCLA) are mainly on the Pac-12 Network and various national networks.

TL;DR: if you are in the LA market and have been with YouTube TV for a while, it's likely that access to your local pro teams' games isn't a dealbreaker for you.

I don't blame YouTube TV for not paying whatever premium fee Sinclair thought it could get for the LA region RSNs.

I got the notice that I am not impacted. So that means FSM and FSKC.

awww someone got their feelings hurt.

As if I didn't already hate the Yankees enough, but now they are leveraging their clout to blackout nationally televised Yankee games on YTTV? I can't believe MLB would allow a marquee franchise to never appear on TV screens nationwide for this season and however many more to come on a service that has at least 2 million customers and continues to grow.

As far as wanting to pay a lower rate than other providers, I would assume YTTV was trying to factor in customer data and their ability to sell targeted advertising into the deal to get the rate down.

I’m in Birmingham DMA and thought I had Fox Sports Southeast a week ago but not really sure as I rarely watch unless the Braves are on occasions. I still have Fox Sports South. The Braves played last year on South also. So I’m not sure if these two were consolidated or Southeast was moved out of my DMA.

I’m currently “moved” to that DMA and you did have southeast and south before this. Southeast is gone like you said. No loss that I can tell, as every time I checked them they did show the same thing.

From AZ Central:
YouTube TV and Fox regional sports networks — most of them, anyway — have reached a deal that will allow the networks to be carried on the streaming cable alternative.

Fox Sports Arizona, which broadcasts Arizona Diamondbacks, Coyotes and Suns games, is one of 19 Fox regional networks that reached agreement; two of the regional networks aren't included in the deal. Interestingly, one of the ones that didn’t is Fox Sports West, which broadcasts LA Clippers, Kings, Angels and Anaheim Ducks games.
Fox Sports Arizona is scheduled to carry 160 of the team’s 162 games this season. That would have been a sizable omission for baseball fans.

“We are pleased that YouTube TV was able to agree to terms on 19 of our RSNs and that they will continue to provide subscribers with access to some of the most in-demand sports networks in the nation,” David Gibber, senior vice president and general counsel of Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns Fox regional sports networks, said in a statement. “Millions of fans across the country tune into sports content daily and, at Sinclair, our goal is to make this as widely accessible as possible.”
