Horrible Install

brittanygarden , HipKat ,
Just wanted to show everyone my install back in April. See this thread for more details .

Our dish was reinstalled by a Dish technician after a roof repair. The whole thing was a sitcom. We had scheduled the install for 1-5 pm because we knew we were going to be away from the house in the a.m. I got a notification on my phone from my doorbell that someone was at the door around 10:30. It was the Dish tech. He left without calling, leaving note or anything. We got home between 11:30 and noon and I called Dish to inquire. They said the installer attempted but I would have to reschedule, which i reluctantly did. Check on the website, and the reschedule was not entered. Called back, got another tech he said the installer was on his way to our house. We stayed home and the tech showed up and said "I'm here to trade out your Joey". That was one of the things on the work order. I told him he also needed to reinstall our Dish. He lied, I guess, and said he didn;t see that on the order. I asked him about what happened earlier and he said "I didn;t even look at the time scheduled, I was nearby and just thought I'd drop off the Joey".
He did reinstall the Dish, came back in and had me sign the documentation and left quickly. I went out a couple of minutes after he was gone and found this.

No way I was calling back. Didn't really want this guy back at my house.

I went out the next day and fixed it myself.

I know it's not perfect, but look so much better than what he did (or didn't do).

To be honest, I forgot about it. We went on vacation first couple of weeks of May, caught covid on the way home which wasted another couple of weeks. Just went outside to move the toter and thought. I don't think I ever posted what happened, so here it is.

BTW, should I be concerned as to whether the Dish itself was installed correctly? It is dropping out at the least signs of rain .
Years ago, I had an experience with an installer, and right away he had an attitude. Someone or something gave him this attitude. He was claiming that he would have to crawl under the house in order to install a Dual Tuner and was unable to do that since he was heavier. OK no problem. Called Dish to reschedule, but didn't want him coming back. A few days later I had new and younger installers and the Wiring outside was a mess. The Dual Tuner was in the Bedroom instead of being in the Living Room. Needless to say if I was a new customer that would have been my answer to say Thanks but No Thanks
