Cousin Brucie will be leaving SiriusXM after his Saturday evening show. This is bad news for my wife and I. We really like his show and always tuned in Wednesday and Saturday nights to 60's on 6.

He didn't draw they way they thought he would. And his contract was up for renewal.

He's not done though, I hear he has plans to continue his show online. Follow his Facebook page for details of that which will be announced after Saturdays show. :)

Last show on Sirius XM is tonight. 8 pm eastern.
I listened, he started off sounding sad, but by the end of the show he sounded like his normal self and said it was him who pulled the plug as they couldn't come to a deal. Said he is taking August off and will be back in a very big way after that.

So what do they have to take his place. Wish they would have the call in show like they used to. People would call in from where they were and request a song.

I listened to him during the early to mid 60's on WABC . Yeah music was starting to come on strong. It didn't take to long to see how bad AM radio stations were though. On his shows you were luck to here 4 to 5 songs tops in the space a of half hour...... When I finally heard what was becoming available on FM stations, that was the end of AM for me. If I remember right when he left NY he bought a radio station in Warwick NY. After that he was just a memory.

I was never a fan of Cousin Brucie. I'm sure those who grew up listening to him have fond memories, but when I tune to 60's on 6 I simply want music from the 60's.

Of course that is what 60s radio was like. I t is more of a recreation of the era than a platform for the music itself.
