I have had a Hopper 3 for a year or so. I like to utilize the Multi-view with 4 quadrants. In the last couple of months the Hopper 3 began intermittently rebooting after a “no signal” blue screen when I make changes to any of the 4 quadrants. For example, going to full screen and back. It can even happen just turning the Multi-view off. Dish support had me perform a partial reset which did not fix the issue. I have just received a replacement Hopper 3 and the problem is still occurring. Could this be the result of a software upgrade? I would think others would have a similar problem if it is the result of the latest software upgrade. There are no problems with “no signal” unless I am using the Multi-view mode. Thanks.

If I get through a Saturday without my Multi-view crashing, it's a miracle.
After watching all day last Saturday, it decided to crash just as Tennessee was about to punt to South Carolina with seconds left and would determine if SC could succeed in a comeback . After the agonizing re-boot, somehow, Tennessee still has the ball?! The one reply showed the Tennessee punter dropping the ball and then slinging it forward. Somehow, Tennessee ended up with the ball and a new (and game ending) set of downs.
But will this debacle keep me from using Multi-View next Saturday. Hell no, I am a risk taker!

I tried another HDMI cable but no change. It may be related to when I hit the "pause" button on any or all of the 4 quadrants and bring any of them full screen. It is still intermittent.

I set up the Multi View with four football games (SEC
) and then use the 'swap' button on my 40.0 remote to bring up the four boxes and then navigate them with the Red highlight outline to get sound or select the game I wish to "Go Big" (select button).I do this all day and, at ANY time, without warning, a "click" will set the TV to black and nothing will stop it. All you can do is settle back and wait for it to reboot.

Eddie, I have seen the start up screen masked with several colors as well. I have a theory that the problem is related to "pausing" any or all screens and not being in "live mode" when you "Go Big". As opposed to "pausing" why not try the following. Make sure that all 4 screens are always in "live mode". When you select a screen and "Go Big" then rewind or back up to where you want to watch. Just be sure to "fast forward" to "live mode" before leaving "Go Big". In other words when you are viewing all 4 at once they should all be in "live mode".
If only there were a Mosaic app that would feature six or eight College Sports channels at the same time......

Issue with Skip Back on Hopper 3 & Joeys
When I'm watching a recorded show, and I press the skip back (10 second) button, it has started skipping forward what seems to be a random amount of time. I've also noticed that the skip forward (30 seconds) is skipping more than 30 seconds some times. Although I thought it was related to...

Nah...it's not a pause or unpaused thing. I've been doing this for at least four years and have found no rhyme or reason. It can happen anytime you make ANY change for any reason. It may happen when you go big to four, four to big, move the red box, ...who knows?
I have been able to bring up guides, change guides, bring up game finder....use game finder to change which game is in what box etc. I mean I am fearless in its use and go with it until it crashes.
I weep....then brazingly do it again!
I have had the EXACT same problem as you--only in 4 PIP--and it started with the last firmware update. It is MOST ANNOYING, especially when the DVR is recording shows. This results in recording broken into 2 with missing content while the H3 was rebooting. I can only hope Dish fixes this in the next firmware update because it completely poisons the "bar mode" 4PIP experience, and I use the feature often.
