Hopper 3 Arctic circle set up.

Can you run the DP Duals to a 33 switch and from there to the 42 switch? I never had a chance to use 33 switches but something in the back of my mind tells me it outputs DPP technology

Off topic, but this reminds me of a solution that I came up with for connecting four Hopper 3's to a single dish. Start with the original model Dish 1000, with the W bracket with a separate slot for each LNB (110, 119, and 129). Put DP dual LNB's in those slots. Run one cable from each LNB to a DPP44 switch, and the other cable from each LNB to another DPP44 switch. Cascade each DPP44 switch to a DPH42 switch. Each DPH42 switch would support two Hopper 3's for a total of four. Plus, the DPP44 switches would give you plenty of additional outputs for connecting other receivers, such as Wally. Having said all that, I am sure someone will come up with a reason why this setup would not work. It is an interesting idea, though.

Your dish appears to be set for the lnb to be on the bottom, but with it on top you need to raise the elevation maybe 30-35 degrees. Remember the offset dish is the bottom half (or less) of a full dish, so look to where the lnb sight would strike the dish (perpendicular to the face of the lnb) and duplicate that angle in the opposite direction to the satellite. Currently it is pointing into the ground.

Dishpointer.com shows elevation of 6 degrees, azimuth true 140.7, magnetic 127.7

That’s an interesting take so throw a 33 switch in before the 42 ??? I don’t think I can get one up to the village I’m in by Thursday though.

Okay, I’ll give it a try and see what I can come up with. My current location is Nuiqsut AK if it gives any help as to on the ground directing and degrees.

my biggest question is now if I can run that LNB with a hopper 3 or if I need to try and find a newer LNB for the hopper 3 and if that’s the case it sounds like thanksgiving football at the work camp isn’t going to happen :(

I still have a DPP33 screwed to the rafters. Yes, it is a DPP switch. But before anybody tries to use a legacy dual, it can only accept DP LNBs.

That or a 33 to a 44 to a 42 but I don't think you need the 44 in that application and the 33 doesn't require a power inserter. But the 33, I KNOW outputs DPP signal and I'm sure it will take up 3 DP Duals or DP singles. It's a Multidish switch, right?

I guess I'm not clear on what version his LNBF is but if it's a dual output, I'm almost sure it has to be a DP LNBF

It’s a single connection with two inputs one eye cover

Those should be outputs, right? Is there a label on it that specifies Dish, or Dish Pro?
Correct they’re outputs, I apologize I’ve been at work all day. I’ll take a look at it once I get back to the camp and get more solid photos. From
Memory I believe it has DP on it.

That would be a good thing. If you can get a switch between the dish and the 24 Switch, you're in luck. If that's a Dish Pro LNB< you can use a 33 or 44 switch

Sorry everyone currently in a wind storm, so not trying to get up on a ladder. I’ll try and get the info in the morning or on lunch tomorrow!!!
Hopefully even without Thanksgiving football we can get it working before I rotate out. I’ll be back up here after the holidays be nice to have some tv!!
