I logged into OrbyTV WITHOUT password saved on windows desktop!! Previous success was, as posted earlier, from my iPad.

I am apprehensive to post the details publicly and I am wondering if there is a way to make the information private to members that were on the board before today's date or whatever...?

I also just sent it to FTA4PA so hopefully we can get past this lame "error message".

side note: the procedure is fairly quick and simple. took me about 3 mins to set up and another couple minutes trying and then retrying before success. Total time approx 5 mins.

Sure, but why would you risk adding something and may never get your money back.

BTW, Welcome to SatelliteGuys!

Well, as posted earlier, i feel i am getting my money because yes they turned on those channels i paid. And now i am filling DVRs for maybe later viewing.

beyond that it's more the challenge that was interesting to me.

I thought it was interesting that from the get go my ipad still continued to work. So I was curious as to what it would take to function elsewhere.

Emcommsat has also experienced success so for those that still want or need to login they can. For now.

thanks for the welcome, friend. It's a great forum!

Yes, I was able to login and update my billing info, and service resumed on my receivers. Thanks for the insights. We'll see how long the service works for, might as well enjoy it for a little bit longer before the receivers become paperweights. Welcome to the family!

I did get the PM. Per your suggestion of hitting the stop button I found that no special procedure was even needed. By hitting stop in the browser at just the right time you are able to get to the sign in page. I just entered my already bookmarked link, Orby TV, into the Firefox address bar, hit enter and clicked on the X to stop the page loading. To my surprise after I tried this several times and timed it right I was able to access the login screen and get into my account. I did not make any changes but it is possible. :)

interesting that you didn't need to fiddle DNS I had zero success until I did that.

glad it worked out!

I'll be out of options if their done, except for o/a. At&t is not an option with all their lies, and Dish isn't much diffrent I don't think. Out here in rual MO theres no net for streaming, and Starlink is to expensive for start up.:(

Do you already have Free To Air dishes set up to get what is in the clear? If not, that would be an option to add some channels. :)

As FTA4PA posted go FTA. It may be somewhat limited in comparison but you won't have to go dark.

i was OTA and FTA until orbytv showed up. Everybody else is to expensive and as a previous customer of both dave and charlie I don't like them. Time will tell.

OTA only is it, I was with Dave 18 yrs, then at&t turn them to crap. Was a customer of Charlie for 4 yrs. I won't go back to Dave, and really don't want to go back to Charlie. I really don't have funds to start over with C-band or FTA.So antenna will be it if Orby dies, so sad, like their business model. Its a shame more didnt.

Since the Orby dish uses a linear lnb you could repoint it to another satellite, maybe 97W, and try picking up some channels there. I'm using a modded DirecTV Slimline, which I believe is similar in size to the Orby dish. That's what I will be doing if Orby folds. I know people use those to get 97W and it may work for other sats as well but no guarantee. All you would need would be a cheap FTA receiver. You can find them on eBay. Not the greatest quality but will get the job done if funds are limited. :)

What's on 97w, I've never entertained the idea of FTA till now. Thanks!
