I searched a little but couldn't find an exact reference to this issue.
I don't watch it much anymore but noticed the other night the Hopper 3 just reset itself, went thru a file system check all passed and booted back up.
Last two nights roughly same time frames 8pm-9pmish it reset once each night around those times but didn't do a file check.
Is this thing failing? Can someone with DIRT contact me if so about having it replaced before recordings get lost and I can't transfer if it fails?

Thanks

You probably have your daily reset in the settings set for those times. Go to settings and then the power icon and your daily reset is there.

Hello, dvrexpander. The File System Check process is usually not an indicator of an issue on its own, as it occurs after a reset of the Hopper. Since the check and the self-resets, have you manually rebooted the Hopper by unplugging it? If you have and it continues to reset on its own or gives the File System Check message again, it could be a warning of a power issue to the Hopper.

I will test this shortly - I do run all components thru a APC power Conditioner to ensure clean power at all times. Would this I assume be a power issue internally with the hopper that would require it to be replaced? As I said I do not wish to lose the recordings so if this needs to happen because of a failure soon to happen...may want to get this ball rolling.

Will do this in the morning and report back.
Thanks for the response.

It could be the same issue I've had on multiple hopper3's
Recorded on Ota tunnel with a less decent reception i.e. weather, or distance to their antennas

Usually mine resets when trying to play it back

What needs to happen? I hope you have an EHD on which you stored your irreplaceable Hopper recordings...
I have one but its nearly full - the internal is around 40%
Either way it did it again just a few moments ago after I did a complete unplug last night to test this solution.

What is our next step? Replacing it?
Thanks

This was during live watching, a few other times it was on playback but this one a few moments ago was live.

You mentioned it happened again after the reset. Was it a reboot or did you see the "File System Check" message? Any resets since then? Thanks!

No File system check - it restarted as if it just lost power or I did a manual reset as before. The most recent reset was last night before the last reply. Live TV, just on the channel for an hour or two with nothing else going on.
Have not had it on today to see anything will advise again later if it does it this evening or not.
Thanks

Reset just now - Something has got to be done here. I'm debating on if I should make a call to get the box replaced or not. If you guys are saying you've heard others are having the same issue I'm wondering if its a software update glitch?

I’m getting them almost every day now.Not looking forward to having to deal with them.

I'm hoping support chimes back in here. I have a feeling best option is if they feel its hardware related to send me a new one so I can back up data and send the other back.
I don't want a tech out since the local RSP here will only bring refurbs and not wanting that. I know them all to well having worked for them.

I hate to tell you but RSP's only have what Dish sends them.

I wonder if you requested they only bring out a brand new one, they would?
How do you know if it’s new or refurbished other than if there’s obvious where & tear cosmetically on it?

I’m going to have to make that dreaded phone call!

New come in electrostatic bags with the protective plastic on the front panel doors. Refurbs come in shrinkwrap
