The YouTube TV Thread

After discussing with my wife this morning, I think we are going to try cancelling YTTV and add in Peacock. WRAL has an app for our local news & weather, and pretty much everything else we watch ends up on one of the on-demand services we already have. The only thing we'll really miss out on is live sports. I don't really have time to watch races any more anyway, so I can just watch the recaps on regular YouTube to keep up.

Looks like new tiers and likely the associated costs are coming:
Interesting. Now I wonder if this wasn't some of what was causing trouble in the back room with NBC. When I was on Dish the HBO dispute was because HBO wanted a base audience charge whether it existed or or not and I don't blame Dish for not doing that. I only offer that as an example because that seems to be what affiliates want and uncouplings like this can and will go against them monitarily.

If they offered a Welcome Pack or Flex Pack-style package, that would be interesting to me.

I got a similar email from YTTV about losing Tennis Channel last year and I complained about pricing staying the same while losing channels.
I’ll believe it when I see it.

Looks like YTTV added 3 Hallmark channels. I haven't seen anything about it, but the main channel along with Drama and Movies & Mysteries are eligible to be added to the live grid. They are unchecked at the bottom when you go to customize the live grid.

So..I dumped DirecTv for YouTube Tv last month and I’m never looking back. The guide has improved so much since my first post here. The channels switch quickly, the picture quality is great, and there are 4K events such as the premier league soccer which look stunning.

Overall I’m happy with YouTube TV, it’s saving me about $50 a month from DirecTV.

Any YouTube TV customers here subscribe to MLB.TV through YTTV? I'm curious as to whether you can "DVR" those games like you can anything else on YTTV or do they just stream live? What about in market teams that usually are blacked out. I assume you can't watch Live, but does it library those games for the future? The reason I ask is of course YTTV doesn't play nice with Bally Sports, so that means no Braves games without the MLB add on. My parents recently switched to YTTV and my dad misses the Braves games. I realize I could just set up MLB.TV but that is another app I have to teach him to use and swap between. Right now I have it rigged where when they turn on the TV and Firestick it just takes them straight to YTTV and they are happy. I hate to mess that up if I can avoid it.

So I finally see my roku ultra has 5.1 sound for YoutubeTV. My preferred device the AppleTV 4k 2021 has yet to get it and still doesn't switch to HDR for 4k HDR streams like the Roku Ultra has always done. I don't know whose to blame but at least fix the HDR issue already.

It’s $10 off a month with T-Mobile, too.
I had that one then switched to Hulu with live. Then I tried the internet from Tmobile then got youtubetv for half off for a year. I didn't keep the internet as it was really bad in my area. The fastest download I can get at my house is about 40 megs down. My cable is 400+ and it's the same price as tmobile.
