If I'm reading correctly one can avoid the RSN fee by getting the "Entertainment" (or Select) package???
We just got the new bill for January and it's $200. We're thinking of dropping from XTRA to SELECT if select is available, otherwise Entertainment.

Wonder how many channels I would lose that I do watch ?
I'll have to look thru channels.
The main loss I see that may bother most may be The Weather Channel, it requires at least CHOICE. But I'm betting you could still watch/listen to it though channel 200.
Main difference between SELECT and ENTERTAINMENT is SELECT does not have the ESPN's or NBC Sports.

Called retentions this morning, changed from XTRA to SELECT and dropped ShowTime.
Now all I have is SELECT + HBO + DVR + Access Fee + two DVR's over one. Got a $20/mo discount for a year. Supposed to come out to $98/mo (from $200/mo)

Lowest package I am able to see on the website is Entertainment $64.99. Shop

That's the new customer price.
Current customer prices are: Select is $67.99 Entertainment is $79.99 Choice is $99.99 Ultimate is $128.99 and Premier is $183.99
That chart I linked to is not 100% correct.
Now that I have CHOICE I can say the only difference between CHOICE and ENTERTAINMENT other than $12.00 is CHOICE does not have:
ESPN
ESPN2
FS1
NBCSN (This channel is going defunct Jan 1st anyway!)
PBSKids (Weird, I get this over the air for free as a sub channel on OTA PBS)
And that's it.

are all included with SELECT despite the chart not showing it.

and just a reminder, while The Weather Channel is not included in CHOICE or ENTERTAINMENT you can watch it in the little box on channel 200 Newsmix, same with BBC World News.
When I go to the page to change my Package, the prices are higher: Select is $90, Entertainment is $102, Choice is $122, Xtra is $139, Ultimate is $151, and Premier is $206.
I believe the prices you're citing are the current regular "All Included" prices which include one Genie HD DVR with the package. Each additional receiver for other TVs costs an extra $7/mo on top of that. And an RSN fee, which varies by area, also applies to the Choice and above packages.
I think packages are different by region. I punched in a zip code for a certain area the packages were 3.00 cheaper a month but did not include locals.but the interesting thing is there was a 3.00 add on for locals
