I had my Joey updated to 4K today. Everything is fine except that I am only getting two of the 540 channels. I get 540-01 and 540-03 but not 02 and 04. My Hopper 3 gets all four channels. The Joey is connected to a Toshiba Fire TV and the Hopper is connected to a very old Vizio TV (through component connection). I have restarted both the Hopper and the Joey with no luck. According to Amazon's website for the Fire TV - "This TV is HDR-compatible, so you can enjoy HDR movies and TV shows." Yet the Joey doesn't seem to agree. I have also set the input mode to 2.0 with no success. Would appreciate any advice on what am I missing?

You just wasted your $50 4K Joey upgrade fee because the 4K Joey does not do HDR and Dish dropped the non HDR 4K channel about a month ago. I'd call them and demand my money back. Even if they didn't charge you the $50, you still got gypped

Not to mention that there should be a Joey 4 coming out real soon now. No, I don't know if that's Dish "soon", but it's been awhile since we've known about it.

Since I'm new to Dish 4K - is it possible that the programming for non-hdr channels was removed in anticipation of the Olympics?

I've been round and round with support and they continue to tell me that the 4K Joey works with 4K HDR even though the website (MyDISH) does not say that it does. This is very frustrating to upgrade to a 4K Joey that does not allow me to watch 4K programming.

Judging from the past you won’t be able to watch the Olympics using a 4K Joey. The Olympics will use HDR and the 4K Joey does not do broadcast HDR. The only exception is that HDR works on Amazon Prime but it does not work on Dish broadcasts.

CSR's are historically known to be wrong about most things

What is going on over at DISH... If the ND Football Game isn't broadcast in 4k on NBC on Saturday I am going to cancel my account and run YoutubeTV. This is an absolute joke. I am having the same problem Hopper shows all 4 and 4k Joeys show 2 stations. I am not paying for this service if they decide to dump Satellites.

I watched 2022 Super Bowl in HDR in 4k. I have not seen many broadcasts for late but curios what is going on with the 4k Joeys. The Techs are clueless. I think they know what is going on but just play stupid.

Almost ALL of Dish Network's 4K HDR comes through FOX, so I can almost guarantee that no NBC,ABC or CBS 4K HDR broadcasts will be seen anywhere on Dish Network. Best wishes with cancelling your account without a hefty charge back for breaking the contract - read the agreement you agreed to when you signed up.

Dish has a contract with Fox to show their 4K sports. They do not have a contract with NBC/Peacock, ESPN,, or CBS. They can't show you what they don't have a contract to show you.

The 4K Joey (not the Joey 4) is currently not capabile of playing 4K HDR, but some have implied that if you record the 4K HDR event on the 540-X channels that the 4K Joey can play such events but the picture is washed out a bit due to the absence of HDR decoding. YMMV

Lol, other than certain sports events that's still many years out if ever at all over satellite.
I fell for what the CSR that day. The only way to upgrade to get a new Joey, like the Joey 4, is to get the Hopper Plus. While the Hopper Plus may be better today, than when it came out, I still have hesitations, not to get the Hopper Plus.

So, you can get that Joey 4 with the Hopper+ and then simply take the Hopper+ out the picture by unplugging it. The Hopper+ doesn't cost anything extra so that is not an issue. The Joey 4 will work just fine without the Hopper+.

Not so fast, with newer updates, we're seeing a lot of problems with Joey 4's when the Plus is removed from the system. The only fixes have been reinstall the Plus and let it update or swap the 4's for Joey 3's
