My observation it that both your Hoppers must be owned for that to work, otherwise they place the owned one as primary with the $15 DVR fee ($0 lease fee) and the leased one as secondary with the $15 lease fee.
In years past, the primary receiver would be whichever one results in the lowest total receiver fees for the customer. In other words, the most expensive one would be treated as primary (free) with the additional receiver fees only being charged on the cheaper receivers. That seems to have changed in recent years. I guess Dish is less concerned with keeping subscribers satisfied (or keeping them as subscribers at all) and simply want to charge as much money as possible, for the same level of service, to the remaining subscribers.

For an example from my account, I once had a purchased Hopper 3 and a purchased ViP222k activated at the same time, after the price change for purchased equipment went into effect. The weird quirk with this was that with both of these receivers active at the same time, DVR service was deactivated on the Hopper 3, so there was no DVR fee. Therefore, the fee structure that would result in the lowest fee would be to have the ViP222k as primary (free) and only charge the $5 additional outlet fee for the Hopper 3. Instead, the Hopper 3 was treated as the primary receiver, and I was charged the $10 additional outlet fee for the ViP222k, since it serves two TV's.

With the DVR fee, this would have made sense, as that would have made the Hopper 3 the most expensive receiver at $15. So, Dish would not have charged any additional amount for that receiver. However, like I said, the DVR was deactivated due to also having the ViP222k. With the ViP222k by itself, there were absolutely no receiver fees, and it served two TV's. However, whenever I would activate the Hopper 3, I was being charged for two additional outlets, when I was really only adding one additional TV beyond the two free TV's.

I never argued with Dish about this, since I never kept both receivers active at the same time for very long anyway. It was just a weird quirk with Dish's billing system that I noticed. So I thought "Well this is odd..." but just let it go. I figured this was an unusual case since probably not very many people have DVR service deactivated on their active DVR-model receivers. Based on the examples in the posts above though, it now seems that it is Dish's policy to charge the highest receiver fee possible with the configuration of equipment on each account.

As Steve Harvey would say, "And now you know the rest of the story"
Paul Harvey, but yeah...

And that is total BS!!! That is the one part of the purchased equipment price chart that people actually took pictures of, and posted in the thread I linked earlier. Here is one such post:

And here is the picture from that post:

Notice that if you own your second Hopper 3, the service fee should only be $5 per month. Also note that Dish requires everyone with two Hopper 3's to purchase at least one of them. So, I think someone at Dish realized that this change would give everyone with two Hopper 3's an automatic $10 per month discount (as the chart above shows) and went "Nope! Not on my watch!"

Granted, this chart is from the early 2021 price changes. Still, if this rate has changed at all since that time, then Dish should have included that change on the more updated price change chart, but they didn't. Dish's silence on this issue is deafening. At the very least, Dish should have an updated chart somewhere on their site that lists all of the possible equipment fees, just like the thread starter was asking for in the first place.
were is this located on the site? and i will submit this cause according to " high" teir support there is not such thing, not that find anything with there new website layout

There also say I would have to own 2 h3 to get discount.... which would defeat prupose of discount at point cause i would still be paying the same. is there actual number i could call to get this sorted out could you let me know what this number is via pm ( have 2 numbers and they is executive tier support or whatever but every person i talk to get diffrent story) as ihave owned my 2nd h3 for 3 years. no I am not about to do 2 year contract with them. as i was about to cancel them 3 week ago cause cause there where say there is no promo "discount" i coult apply to account. it to point i dont even want deal that supposed executive support tier cause diffrent story each time. then they tried to get me again to do price lock 2 year agreement which would wiped out 40$ i been having applied to account for last 5+ years ever 6 to 12 months to save 20 on the 250 teir pakage i have, which would been more money monthly.

27 years with them and have jump threw hopes to get discount cause left hand right hand and brain of dish all say diffrent things. I sorry but If i own ANY equipment I should be gett discount and not being charge the same as if i leased.

Ok so i just got off phone with Tralicia from loyalty/retention and was told. there is NO discounts for owning any of H3 they only apply to Joey and could not find and legal documents to say other wise. So if there a PDF stating this or what that recent, Please post it.

I told them I been with them for 25+ years and and asked what they could do. As i current get 6m-12m 40$ off (reapplied before it ends) and I have Starz and Movie pack half off for (3m-6m reapplied before goes back to full price and i get hit with prorated charges) been doing the above for last 6+ years.

They had 2 contracts
1 would give 5$ off ONE of h3 i have but would null and void the 40$ i getting.
and
2nd would give me 2$+2$ off the 2 joeys i have, but would null and void the 40$ i have applied.

Only equipment that get discount on for owning was Joeys/Wally. which would be 5$ instead of 7$

In the end I got 10$ credit to my account for next 6 months. cause any contract i would sign would made my bill go up so she decided to give 10$ next 6month cause i expected i a discount for owning h3.

Take what I said how ever you want to but this what I was told. IF there is some Dish PDF or what ever stating owning H3 (specifically) would discount the account please post it. I will revisit all this in 6months when everything is do to go back normal price.

At one time there was a pull down box that indicated a lower price of $5 for owned Hopper3 receivers but as far as I know no one has been able to get the lower price and that page has disappeared. I gave up trying after multiple attempts by dish CSR were unsuccessful. There are not that many that own a Hopper3. We had to buy the second Hopper3 if we wanted to have 2 Hopper3 receivers. Some customers with Owned Hopper2 receivers have gotten the lower price.

Some customers with Owned Hopper2 receivers have gotten the lower price.
Some customers with owned Hopper 3's also got the lower price, but maybe only those who added the second owned Hopper 3 after January 14 last year, and even then maybe only if they owned both Hopper 3's. This is from a post above the one I linked earlier:
I Added a new hopper 3 last week to my account and the price increase was 5 dollars. I confirmed that It is listed as owned . So my first hopper 3 is 15 . Second hopper is 5 dollars and Joey 3 is 5 dollars.

The bad part is that those of us with only one Hopper 3 get no discount at all, even though it is purchased. In this case, I was not even required to purchase it, but rather chose to do so, in order to have the convenience of being able to activate it and deactivate it whenever I wish. Still, I get no other advantage on my bill, compared to someone who leases one Hopper 3. Since Dish required those of you with two Hopper 3's to purchase one of them, they should at least honor the discount on purchased equipment for the second Hopper 3. Otherwise, they should start allowing you to lease your second Hopper 3, since you are paying the same monthly rate either way.

IF there is some Dish PDF or what ever stating owning H3 (specifically) would discount the account please post it.
The problem is that this change occurred on a Dish price chart from early last year that is now outdated, and was removed by Dish as quickly as possible. Dish replaced that page on their site with the page that now shows the November 2021 price increases. I know for a fact that the updated chart is incomplete, since it makes no mention at all of the Locals Only package. Yet, November 2021 is when the price of Locals Only increased to $25 per month. Prior to then, Locals Only had been $15 per month, as was also shown on the early 2021 price chart that has now disappeared. If this large of an increase can go unlisted on the new price chart, then who knows what else may have changed in November?

The solution would be for Dish to be more transparent with their pricing, and post a brand-new complete chart that shows all of their various programming package pricing and equipment pricing, including all of the various tiers of grandfathered pricing. Unfortunately, even if Dish is willing to do this, they may not be willing to update their price chart page again until after yet another price increase happens. So, to get more transparency sooner (and to have a better chance of actually getting any purchased equipment discounts sooner, if such discounts even still exist) we would have to root for prices on everything else to go up sooner. This seems like a no-win situation for the customer.

15 and 25$ for locals only? i pay 12$ for it, I tried to get them give me locals for free but you know how that ended. I am honestly getting tired to deal with dish and frankly any customer support. you get different story with each call half people dont know what they talking about.

I had rep from the "loyalty/retention number" try and tell me the "joeys" are dvr.... when there own site lists as non dvr box, it slave to h3 the joeys dont even have tunners it all functions of hopper 3

in 6month i will revist all this but frankly I can get spectrum cable tv 4 dvr box and similar channels maybe lose few here and there, and pay over 50 less monthly and that would internet+cable tv bill.

Think only reason why i got 10 credit for 6 months cause they didnt want give discount on the h3 i own, was cause I told her i was with them for 25+ years and i and i would be pay less if if i just drop them. and all there "contract" would result in my paying MORE month not less. cause 40$ off cant be combined with contract accord to them.

Food for thought, Before i got hold of last person from loyatiy I was supposed to get called back from supervisior from loyalty, in reguard to this that superviser never called back i was also told loyalty number dont have lines to supervisors or ability to transfer to them which why they would call me back. Again diffrent story each time you call and each person you talk too.

Dish loss customer faster then gaining the, like most cable/sat providers. instead of lowering prices so people stay they raise them so people that have been loyaly for years just leave. sooner or later that mentailty is gona backfire

I say in 5 years Satellite subs will be very diminished. Unless Charlie gets his merger through with Directv. But both are losing subs at a terrific rate so it might not even matter then.

Read the fine print about Spectrum ( I have them for broadband), you get charged $21.99 for locals, another $5 for a sports fee, then your box charge ( which you can avoid if you use a Roku, but then you will get charged a Cloud DVR fee if you want one), then all those extra fees and taxes.

I get the mailings all the time, $54.99, then I read the fine print, with all the above, it would be $25 more the the $65 I pay You Tube TV which includes locals and DVR at no extra charge.

Yes.

That would actually save me money. I already have Spectrum's Roku app for a cheap $20 basic package that does not include locals. So, unless the additional fees and taxes for adding locals would add up to around $5 or more, it looks like I could bundle and get everything from Spectrum at a lower price.

Oh i will chew dish out if they try to do that to me, maybe it 12$ cause it part 250 package we have.

As for spectrum i did read was 193 for first 24 months inluding the 4 dvr box 250 package equavantly epix and startz addons and my internet then 20$ more after 24months which would still be less then i pay for dish and just internet from them bonus being 4 dvr HD/4K box for each tv none this whole house dvr crap. switching to them not something want to do, but will happen if dish keep playing these games.

On the other hand, maybe this is why I don't want to bundle everything with Spectrum:

This has been happening all day, which I hadn't realized when I posted earlier. My dad told me he was having problems, so I checked and sure enough, the Spectrum app on my Rokus has the same error.

Pretty much as soon as I posted that, the Spectrum app started working again. Some channels were still glitchy, so I had to try selecting each channel multiple times to get it to actually start playing. That is still better than not being able to access anything at all.
