Hi, I'm planning to use a Wally with a 1000.2 dish for a very simple home application using my RV's Wally. If it's a solo Wally with nothing else attached, will it work with a hybrid LNBF or do I need to find a non-hybrid LNBF for the antenna?

Thanks.

The Wally will work with a hybrid LNBF. Connect the coax to port 1.
I am doing the same thing however locals arent showing up in southern illinois. I am into port one - everything work except locals. Any ideas? Using Dish Network Dish 1000.2 DPP Twin ( EASTERN ARC) For 61.5 and 72 into a Wally (brand new) no switches.

What specific DMA are you in? Where do your locals come from?

Are you subscribed to the locals? What ZIP code are you located in? Does your MyDish account show the correct service address for your location?

Disregard. I spoke to Dish last night. They said my setup will work fine however they will not turn the locals on until a service call is made to upgrade equipment that i already upgraded. It makes no sense i know and i had them repeat a couple of times and include that in writing.

62872 and yes and yes on the service address. Dish has a lock on the account as a mandatory service call is required. They said if i cancel the required work order i can have locals in 15m however they will shut it down again until a service call is made. Makes zero sense to me and spoke to 10 agents beating the same drum.

Not to get off subject but southern Illinois! On my shortlist of places to retire, if only it wasn’t Illinois lol! I love it down there. although where I’m thinking is further south, into the Marion/ Lake Egypt area

NYDutch Wow is right! This started because of us using a 311 for our camper and kept the receiver hot until we went camping just because with a mobile rig in which is legacy and dish is aggressively getting that gear off the grid. I upgraded it from 500 to HD 61.5/77 EA and a wally literally last night trying to be ready for this weekends trip. I asked the agents to read what they are saying and to tell me if that makes sense too them. They said no but those are the rules they must follow. So - I also found out this morning that some lawsuit was won and Dish has an incentive to "lease" for free to provide updated equipment with install (install - which is key) as they get reimburse for updating existing customers and is frowned upon if i buy outright. So in order to get the locals to now work, they must do a "professional" install at the house and bless it with free leased gear. Then hypothetically you can you can cancel service and send back the gear, then buy outright your receivers and active with no issue. Its a scheme for sure! Just nutz

im 30 minutes from there.

I wonder if Dish thinks that you are account stacking and they want to initiate a service call to verify that you are not sharing your equipment with multiple families.

I have no idea? That certainly isnt the case. I have two receivers installed in the house. I do not use DVR and only really watch it to watch locals (OTA requires a 50' tower and a healthy Antenna). Thats it and really to watch the 10pm news. (yup im lame). The third is for our camper. I keep it hot (as in pay for the extra receiver even when not in use). Im not sure what is going on honestly. But whatever floats their boat is a okay here. If they want spend the money and do whatever it is they need to do then thats their P and L decision. Seems very odd too me. They just informed me they MUST install new equipment and I shouldn't have purchased a Wally for our camper and they will replace that one regardless? I'm thinkin its time to say bye bye to them..... This is over the top not convenient for a 15 year customer.

just an adder here. they insisted on coming out on a Sunday during church.....said i might need to skip church..... sorry but none of this is ethical and have it in writing.

Now that I think of it - Are their any FTA to get just live network tv without using and installing a massive OTA? If there is - I prob dont have a need to continue my dish relationship.

If you have good Internet service, there are streaming services that include your locals. I'll leave it someone that uses them to advise on the choices,

Thanks for the note. I looked into that as well. IPTV is an option however, we dislike the chaotic setup and lack of a decent EPG. Youtube and Hulu have great live tv packages but start well over dish type programming for us. Then, the internet is an issue. We can watch netflix and such via our roku or firestick however only one tv at a time because living in rural America on a farm hinders our internet provider choices. We pray for fiber daily :)

Wanted to provide an update to the above. Long story short, everything is finally up and running. Installer came out installed a 110/119/129 dish, could not get the locals to come in. After a dozen calls I FINALLY reached someone at dish that said hmmmm - lets try turning on the locals on your programming. I was like what? So they did and locals started to come in on one tv only. They could not get them to work on the other wallys and left (note - all tv's have wallys on them. So I installed a EA 1000.2 (my camping dish)on the rear of the house and boom all is coming in AND am getting HD channels versus the dish DN installed did not. The installer was very nice and stated Dish turned off millions of users and he said to say he's busy right now is an understatement. Saga is over I hope. I have a few more grey hairs and can finally watch the evening news. Have a Great Weekend Everyone and Thank You for the responses.
