DISH Fights Inflation Head-on with 3-Year TV Price Guarantee

A pay-TV industry first, DISH pledges bill stability and inflation relief with its 3-Year TV Price Guarantee
DISH ranked #1 in customer satisfaction nationally for 5 consecutive years by J.D. Power

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Nov. 17, 2022 — Ranked #1 by J.D. Power for five consecutive years, DISH unveiled today its 3-Year TV Price Guarantee. This industry-leading promotion provides new customers protected pricing for three years. A first-of-its-kind offer, the 3-Year TV Price Guarantee includes America’s Top packages starting at $79.99 per month, delivering inflation-free entertainment with no annual TV price increases for the life of the guarantee.

As inflation continues its 40-year high,¹ Americans are keeping an eye on their finances. Groceries, utilities and housing costs are all rising.² To deliver stability, DISH is introducing its new 3-Year TV Price Guarantee to help alleviate the stress and pressure of inflation. By locking in a TV price, DISH’s 3-Year TV Price Guarantee eliminates the financial guessing game currently offered by competitor pay-TV and content providers.

“Consumers today are facing real challenges when it comes to managing their finances,” said Brian Neylon, group president, DISH TV. “We’re proud to announce stability for DISH customers with a 3-Year TV Price Guarantee that enables households to easily budget their entertainment costs through 2025 and beyond.”

The 3-Year TV Price Guarantee only requires a 2-year commitment and pairs seamlessly with the innovative Hopper Plus entertainment system.

Powered by Android TV, Hopper Plus customers find everything they love—including their favorite streaming apps—all in one place. With the Hopper Plus, users have access to Google Play, including 10,000+ apps, spanning games, video streaming and music. The simple design and innovative functionality of the Hopper Plus makes accessing movies and shows faster than ever. Users can now watch all of their entertainment in one place without switching inputs or remotes.

“TV entertainment should be effortless. We’re proud that time and time again we’ve had our customers’ backs,” said Neylon. “Alongside our 3-Year TV Price Guarantee, DISH customers deserve the best viewing experience in the industry and our next-generation Hopper Plus and award-winning Hopper whole-home DVR system, Chromecast built-in, and DISH Voice Remote with Google Assistant make TV simpler.”

Seems like it does say that.
It says both.

This deal is clearly headed to the Supreme Court. ;)

Could somebody explain this to me?
As far as I know Hopper plus is a small gadget you attach to Hopper 3's usb port. It provides many Google apps and streaming from different sources.

So, is it for people who currently do not use external streaming devices such as Fire stick, Roku, etc.?

I currently use Fire stick and Roku and very satisfied with them. Does it make any sense to go ahead and get the "plus" device from Dish and unattach Stick and Roku?

If a smart tv has enough hdmi ports (3 or more) who cares about tidying up around tv?
All I currently do is change the tv's video input (hdmi) and stream from Fire stick or Roku.

Called a couple of days ago for my mother-in-law and got $15 off her current package. Price lock for two years. Also a one time $40 credit. Oh, and two new remotes for free. That's what the original call was for. Yes she had to agree to a 2 year contract.

Rcpandr; what is mom's package?
Does Dish allow price lock on any package? I wonder if the least expensive packages don't qualify. I have Welcome package which is plenty for the family.

So those naysayers who keep predicting Dish’s demise can see that Dish plans to stick around for at least three years. I plan to stick with Dish and my two Hopper3 and Joey3 since they work well. Of course I don’t plan to get a Hopper+ with all of its problems. I think Dish is alienating new and existing customers by releasing a product that is not ready for use.

Its no secret I haven't been a fan of the Hopper Plus, but the last few beta software releases have given me hope. I just don't know when this software is going to be released to the customers.

With that said my wife and I simulated cutting the cord and removed satellite from the main tv we use and tried just streaming. It was horrible. We both love the Hopper 3 so much and when the Plus is fully stable (and its getting close!) it will be a great addition to the Hopper 3 ecosystem. :)

Have they fixed Multi-View?

Are the remote controls working faster Scott?

Is DISH requiring new customers to get a Hopper+? I would hope not. Personally, I use multi-view too much to get a Hopper+ unless or until they add that functionality to it. I would hope they wouldn't require any customer to get a product missing features they want if another product (regular Hopper) they offer would meet their needs.
