Hopper Plus / Joey 4 users check in here!

BTW I removed my Hopper + over a month ago and the J4 is still having the same issues - so it's an issue with the J4 or J4 software, not H+.
I had the black screen startup issue with one of my Joey 4s and had it replaced. No more issue. Wish I had the same luck with my WJ4. I would try a DISH Joey 4 replacement first.

I would try that, but like I've said in previous posts, I have two other J4's and I've switched them all to this TV and every one still has the same issue.

Are people still having problems with the Plus if they only have a single H3 and no Joey? Other than slow operation?
Not only do I have a single H3 and no Joey but get this -I'm still watching a stone age Panasonic plasma that 's only 1080P!Pry from my dead hands etc.
It was working fine until I went to use gamefinder and it failed.Hadn't seen that since day 2.

Was a long time Dish customer until 3-4 years ago. Too many software issues so moved to Fios. More expensive and lacked some of Dish’s features.

Just moved back last week. HD channels are terrible. Had a tech come this morning and was nothing he could really do. Talked to support and they reported that the issue is with the hopper plus. They are removing it and giving me new Joeys to fix it.

We don’t need HopperPlus as we have apps already on our smart tv.

My tv and hdmi cable are the same as they were before on Dish and Fios before and HD was clear on both. This new Dish setup with this HopperPlus is nothing but problems. They are sending an experienced tech today with new equipment to resolve. Keep you posted.

I suspect that Panny might be worth more today than what you paid for it!
No doubt.
Also I poke my head into the AVS forum from time to time. To me it seems like 4k,HDR .EARC etc have made consumer electronics even harder to make work together. On one thread a LG owner was told by LG support that LG TV's no longer support AVR's -only direct connections. Not that LG's won't work with AVR's but that if you have an issue you are on your own.

So my main issue with the J4 is that upon startup I can navigate the menu/guide/dvr/even live channel change, but once I try to click and watch anything I get a black screen that says "playback failed" and it blinks over and over again. Then I can go back and try to click another channel or DVR or something but the same thing happens until I reset the joey from menu or pull the plug. Then it is fine until I turn the TV off and then a lot of the time the second time I turn the TV on I either get live tv showing non HD picture that I cannot navigate at all (like it is frozen) or I get a green screen that I can see the screen saver behind but it is frozen... only a pull the plug will work. Does anyone else have those issues?

That's why I think it is the J4, not the TV. Unless it is possible the the Samsung is sending a weird signal back to the J4 - IDK.
