Game notification on YT TV Question

85 year old MIL has YTTV but does not have a cell phone or a tablet.Checks her email on a laptop about once a week.
Dish has a nice technology that tells you when a game involving your favorite team is about to begin and offers to take you to that game .
Researching it appears that choosing a favorite team on YTTV gets the game recorded(no help) and gets a notification sent to the mobile app on your cell phone(also no help).
Am I missing anything?

Too bad.I guess they figure everyone has a smart phone and too bad if you don't. It's the way of the world.Not a deal breaker for her-I'm just trying to help her out.
