It's a local LA station, so it must be a problem with DirecTV's ability to receive their signal and rebroadcast it locally.

yes that was kcal 9 me t.v. 54 acts up to. maybe it's time to e mail the station and see whats going on

after sending e-mails the issue was fixed for both stations

it must have been some kind of connection issues between the stations and dtv. but try to explain that to dtv it flies right over there heads.

I'm sure that having to deal with locals, to keep all those signals going, is just a pain for them

Problem is, you can't talk to the right people to explain it. (at DTV, or anywhere else in most cases)
Local issues, I have talked to Station Chief Engineers with great results and normally quikly.
