I would imagine the Streaming services will be going up on a more regular basis as soon as they figure out how much more they Can get from the sub. Advantage is you can leave at any time.
(Netflix, Paramount Plus, Disney ect) (and the rest)
For sure. There is a difference there as well that is isn't necessarily easy for me to pin down. The reality is streaming services have content from various studios/networks just like MVPDs, but somehow streaming feels different than the traditional linear model. When I want to cancel Netflix, I still have access to subscribe to Paramount+, Disney+. AppleTV+, Peacock, Prime Video, etc. I think it makes me feel like I have more control of the situation compared to MVPDs, where I can switch from YTTV to DirecTV Stream or Dish, but I am not really changing the available content all that much.
A flawed analogy that just popped into my head: Traditional Linear TV is kind of like driving into New York City, where no matter how you go, you are going to experience traffic jams, potholes, tolls, etc., and leaving is almost as big a headache. In comparison, on-demand streaming is more like deciding which Japanese city you are going to take the bullet train to. There is still a toll, and the experience might not be perfect, but you can easily leave when you get there if you don't like it.
