Do people still watch satellite TV these days

My wife made us try streaming, and she hated it. He wanted her Hopper 3 back.

It took about a month for my wife to decide that switching to streaming wasn't all that different from when we switched from cable to Dish. Now she uses the Firestick "Live" listings and voice commend like a pro.

we noticed on YTTV the volume levels isn't as loud as sat and cable... maybe it's me but the audio compression sucks!!! though i have a surge protector sat and or cable wasn't as bad sounding

Highly unlikely that all three of our Internet services (Spectrum, AT&T, and Verizon) would go down at the same time, but if they did, we also have access to our neighbor's Starlink terminal. Other than that, we have lots of books on our phones and tablets.

The TV in our motorhome not only isn't connected to the Internet, it can't be connected to the Internet.They can still monitor what we're seeing from our Firestick I suppose.

Yes, the Firestick has an Internet connection of course, but the TV itself does not.

That's a carry over from our RV'ing days. Spectrum cable Internet serves our house and our motorhome when it's parked at the house as it is now. The AT&T and Verizon/Visible hotspot services are located in our motorhome where we're currently living due to our disabilities. I'll eventually drop the two cell services and just use the hotspot service on my phone as a backup. We took our last trip in the motorhome this summer after 20 years of RV life. It's hard to let go and admit it's over, but we're getting there.

Yep, the program producers use thier more popular channels as leverage to get carriage for thier less popular channels.

It's all a racket, ESPecially the sports. They simply think they have a captive audience of sports addicts. I love to see this, people cutting the cord because they're forced to buy packages that are perpetually hiking mainly due to sports content. The cord cutting only causes providers to hike even more to capitalize on their remaining "addicts," but even they start peeling away when enough is enough for them, plus they're getting essentially NO replacement or younger subscribers. A doom loop for the providers that they'll never see their way out of in time.

same with isp's putting data caps on and charging more for data!!! nothing more than corporate greed!!! i wonder if that will be the last straw before people switch back to cable or sat since it costs just as much now for a live tv sub

I haven't heard much (or anything) about internet-access (only) subs getting hiked every year like with cable/sat tv service providers. As far as I would know, by far most have unlimited data or effectively so for the average home consumption. Also this is a service that people are going to have regardless of how they tv, if simply for the online access necessary to modern life. So then it comes down to streaming and how pricing will hold (or not) on that

Our AT&T unlimited data hotspot service has held at $23.49/mo for almost 10 years. Our Visible/Verizon unlimited talk, text, and data/hotspot service hasn't existed that long, but the $25/mo price has held so far, although they have added some options at a higher cost. Our Spectrum 100 Mbps unlimited data service has been $39.99 for about 4 years. As said, yes, we would have them regardless of TV watching, so I don't include them in the cost of TV watching.

I support his logic that it's a different and separate service. As he said, if he would consume no tv, he would still have it, like electricity. It's a utility.

If the only thing you use the internet for is TV then count it. But if you use it for anything else don't count it. Do you count your electric bill or your food bill? You can't watch TV without electricity and you would die if you didn't eat food.

I don't include it because we would have it even if we didn't use it to watch TV. In all the years we had Dish sat service for both the house and the motorhome, we also had Internet service from TWC and then Spectrum. Spectrum gig service is $70/mo for the first year here. They do have a $100/mo phone/Internet package deal where they claim the gig service is only $40 though. If I wanted their phone service, that would interest me.
