OK, I've seen 622 bugs mentioned in several posts. Perhaps it's time to post bugs and only bugs in a single consolidated thread. If one of the mods thinks this is a good idea, maybe change the title to "Official 622 Bug Thread" or something like that and make a sticky?

Please, to keep the thread to the point, plesae only post the information requested here. If you want to start a specific thread for a bug, or already have, please post a list to that thread in your post here. The intent it to have a concise list of bugs here that hopefully someone with the power to fix these bugs will see

Here's the info I think should be included:

Software version: (version number)
Mode bug occurred in: (single or dual)
Dish setup: (what kind of dish and/or switch combo you have)
Description of bug: (brief sentence outlining the bug) (detailed paragraph outlining the bug)
OTA Antenna: (make model and location of your OTA antenna) *just added this after some posts were made.

Software version: 352
Mode bug occurred in: dual
Dish setup: Dish 500 (110 & 119) and Dish 300 (129)
OTA Antenna: Terk HDTVi Indoor Amplified VHF/UHF, mounted on bookshelf indoors

Description of bug: Receiver locks-up on check switch. The receiver, when you initiate a check switch, will get to "1 of 1" on both inputs and lock-up, eventually rebooting itself. This happened once when the installer was there, and again this morning after I received a message saying I needed to check my switch. When a reboot does not occur, the check passes without problem. Has happened 2 times out of - maybe - a dozen "check switches" that were performed during and following instalation.

Description of bug: Loss of video and sound, or just video. Sometimes, usually when coming out of standby, there is no picture or sound. Sometimes, after changing channels there is no pciture, but sound is OK. Going back and forth to standby/on and/or changing the channels usually fixes it.

Description of bug: Loss of audio sych. Sometimes the audio goes out of synch on the OTA HD channels. Pausing and resuming playback fixes this.

Bug: CallerID gives OUT OF AREA/Unavailable for ALL calls. 721 on SAME CABLE
would display all information
UPDATE: while I was at work today it started picking up the info most of the time. Weird.

Bug: audio pops on HD content (not sure on SD).

Mode bug occurred in: dual
Dish setup: Dish 1000 DPP44
Description of bug: Recording OTA and pausing program. When recording OTA and pausing, when returning from the pause and hitting the pause buttion, instead of taking off at the point it was paused it will jump backward as if the skip back button was pressed. Hard reset cleared the problem
OTA Antenna: Winegard HD9095-P on the roof

Software 352 in single mode.

Audio popping via rca jacks on one of the tuners. Recorded Program I am watching can be popping and I can hit stop and then hit pip and swap and continue watching a program on the second tuner and no audio pops. It seems to be only on one of the tuners kind of like the 942 when it had a problem with dolby digital sound on only one tuner. I can change to the second tuner in the second tv room and the popping will move to the first tv room hd tv. Needs to be fixed as it is very loud and interfers with the sound quality.

I second this one. Audio pops need fixed.

Software version: 352
Mode bug occurred in: dual
Dish setup: Dish 500 + 61.5 + DP44
Description of bug: Constant audio drop-outs/pops in HD & SD modes. Seems to happen consistently when coming out of pausing the feed
Also, the audio is out of sync using the optical output, pausing does bring the audio back in sync for a short time. Audio drop-outs/pops continue afterwards.

Wife annoyance factor: HIGH

The audio popping is also present on the TV2 RF out. I agree this is a big issue and needs to be addressed soon.

Also (not sure if this qualifies as a bug), I've noticed that the 622 does not recover from signal interruptions very well. I'm in the NW and have the weak 129 problem that is discussed elsewhere. Whenever I lose the lock, the video goes out and does not return until I do a hard reset. Changing channels will bring the audio back but not the video. Running a check switch doesn't help either.

Audio popping is also happening in program content when changing from programming to commercials and back. Watching House OTA on FOX it was happening during every commercial breaks. Switched to the 942 and the problem was not there. Both the 942 and the 622 are driving the same amp and TV...

call dishnetwork they need your help

Winegard HD-9095

1.) Confirmed audio ticks (this is REALLY annoying and can be damaging to audio equipement if it is outputting clipped signals.)

2.) VOD audio out of sync, I bought a VOD program audio was out, tried pausing and FF, still off

3.) When recording a program last night and watching another program the video on the watched channel froze when I changed to the new watched program, but the audio was still live, switched to the channel I was recording, live video and audio, switched back to the other channel and it was still frozen (but a new screenshot) and the audio was still live.

DVR Problem

Software: 352
Antennas: 1000, 500
Receivers: 622, 921, 322
Single Mode

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a problem with my particular 622. I often have the picture breadkup when watching an HDTV program. Thought it might be reception but then discovered the same problem when viewing a recorded HD movie. The program would start to break up and then the picture would freeze. I could get it back by rebooting and view the part that had previously broken up--so it could not have been a reception problem. I had to do this 3 times to get through a 90 minute recorded movie.

Here's a new one ....maybe. Everything works fine except for the tv2 output has no sound (voices or music) except for very loud, constant crackling sound only through the coax output. If I use the composite output from the #2 output on the 622 to my living room tv no crackling, perfect picture and sound. If I use the coax output and run it to my living room tv with a short piece of coax good picture but the sound is nothing but the loud crackling. If I use the coax that is run to my bed room tv same thing, loud crackling. So on two seperate pices of coax and two different tv's nothing but crackling.

I think it is going to be a bad reciever but I am open to suggestions if anyone else has any ideas.

I'm glad I kept my 942 for the transition period....

I hope DISH fixes the majority of these problems before the April Fool's promotion.:(

Software Version: 352
Mode: SINGLE
Dish Setup: D1000 (110,119,129)

Bug: Audio missing on HDMI connection but present on TOSlink (optical) connection.

Bug: Buzzing or stuttering audio. Present on both SD and HD

Bug: Receiver crash/reboot when using search feature to look for a program. (Happened once)

Bug: Receiver crash/reboot when switching to MPeg4 channel. (Chicago HD local on sat)

Software: 352
Antennas: 500, 500
Receivers: 622, 942, 811
Switch: DP-34 (2)
Single Mode

As others have reported, my 622 rebooted itself yesterday. I simply selected an OTA recording for playback and then it froze...followed by the whoosh of a power down reset. In two days of usage the 622 has been working well. My only problem before the reboot was a very minor audio sync problem with the the HD LIL channels (which I don't watch). Of course, once it rebooted the audio sync problem was solved.l:)

Software: 355
622, 522, 921 (D1000-129) (D300-148) Dpp44 using seperator
Single Mode
Toslink

No audio on all dolby digital channels (All HD channels).
Soft boot fixes problem but it comes back.
Hitting the back button brings back audio as long as you don't go back to live.
No problems before L355.

I've seen this too.
