4K joey all laggy

This morning i was playing around with the 4k joey making sure it worked... it got slow and laggy and it threw off a black screen while in the guide mode it displayed the video in the right hand corner... i tried hitting the back button to try and back out of it and nothing. so i unplugged it and made it go through a reboot after it loaded back up it's fine now... this is the second time i had to do a hard reboot this week on it. i am wondering if it's just starting to fail... just hope it don't go out during the holidays. i have no issues with ordering another joey 4. i did notice the guide likes to freeze now and then as well.. i will more than likely get another joey 4 and cut my losses with this thing as it's been said before . Is there a way to check the temp on the joeys as this one gets kinda warm

HMMM i guess the reboot fixed whatever was going on with it. wonder if there was a software update running in the background ... id'e hate to shell out more $$$ for a box that's only going to get used 2 months out of the year

yea they would.. though doing the reboot got it working again!!! i am thinking it was an update or something running in the background that caused it to get sluggish. though the black screen with the picture in the right corner was interesting

We had our second joey 4 installed . We got a sweet ole lady in america that looked over our acct ant noticed that we owned our boxes and told us the hopper fee for us is $10.00 a month for life of the acct since we own our boxes. and she changed it over

how is the joey 4 vs the 4k joey ?? have a new lg g5 in the joey 4k location, so using that box more got me thinking of the swap..
does the joey 4 do pip ?? and does it still have the full time hdr flag ??

called the other day, tried 3 different phone calls, just wanted a joey 4 to swap the 4k box for, but each call was a mess, they were going to charge me to send a joey 3 box, and turn off the 4k, i passed and told them not to change things.
it shouldn't be that confusing to send a joey 4 is it ??

Completely different. The 4K Joey is nothing but a paperweight these days, since it doesn't handle HDR.
The Joey 4 is a true 4K receiver w/HDR and has the Android TV OS instead of the Hopper's and older Joeys' Carbon UI

our joey 4 does not support pip!!! maybe it needs a software update to support that.. it supports full fledged 4k with HDR... DO not buy it from dish!!! it took us two service calls to get it!!! the first time they came out they wanted to give us another 4k joey then the guys asked if our internet went down alot i was like why then they wanted to give us a wireless joey .. i was like oh f**k no i paid for a joey 4!!! sent that guy on his way and scheduled another call... buy it off of amazon solid signal!!!! once they install it and it's activated you own it no refunds!! it's a faster and smoother box than the 4k joey while they both have the same processor in em.. i think the android os is a lighter os than dish's carbon ui...

Buy it off of solid signal or amazon you never know what dish will bring you!!!!! some say they only lease they joey 4 some say they sell it to but the guy might end up bringing you something different than what you paid for if your buying it!!! and then the clown shows will begin since you will be an unhappy customer !!! are you buying it or leasing it ?? if buying don't go through dish!!!
