Maybe. It all depends on whether the Feds kill the DRM the providers are trying to put into place. I know they CLAIM there'll be converters that don't need a constant internet connection, BUT, if the loaded keys ever get leaked, OR there's a new firmware needed, it'll have to be connected to get those.
