So, apparently there was a moment last night where Brock Lesnar looks to retire from the WWE after his squashed match against the next big thing allegedly.

The crowd was shocked. The crowd said "no". The crowd chanted for him.

Am I the only one that remembers the version of Brock Lesnar that could actually wrestle and quit the company in 2004 because the schedule of being a wrestler was insane? The longest portion of Lesnar's career was as a now and again talent who never wrestled, and only did suplexes and rarely sold. He was in one of the worst matches in the history of hyped matches in Wrestlemania XX against Goldberg (who unlike Lesnar, was never able to wrestle), a match so frighteningly doomed, they got Austin involved to sell some sort of pop. Lesnar was one-quarter rotation away from being in the best WM main event ever.

But that guy disappeared. Failed at getting in the NFL, but had a decent if brief career in UFC, and came back a monster heel who had two or three moves. And the people still didn't care. They chanted as if Lesnar paid the dues of a Cena, Orton, Punk, or Danielson. *confused*

He's why I started watching the UFC. Interest faded a bit when he left, and is largely gone now, but what a glorious spectacle he was.
Too bad, UFC - other than the political affiliations - is more exciting and competetive than ever

A lot of the political stuff is why I haven't even tried. I very much enjoyed the Jon Jones stuff, and was a huge fan of Uriah Hall coming out of Ultimate Fighter, and some of the other events and fighters of that era (pre-COVID I guess?) and was happy to pay to watch the events. Neat that it's now just on a streamer, and miss it occasionally, but yeah.

It's hard to stomach, but the Fight Nights are not inundated with that and Paramount has upped the game to where the Fight Night main events are more legit and competitive than they used to be
