Is it a good idea to use the IF out terminal on the back of an FTA receiver to feed through to another digital FTA receiver or will my signal levels be degraded? I have one RG6 QUAD cable coming inside from my motorized Winegard 76 cm dish. Would it be better use a multiswitch or as a third option should I install a dual lnb on my dish with a second cable run inside?

you can use the loop out (IF out) but that 2nd reciever that's "slaved" can only see the same polarity as the main unit

So you couldn't have one box on a V transponder and one on a H Transponder at the same time.

So the IF out is not my best option. What about a multiswitch to use with only the one coax coming in? Also I have another thread called - finetuning G10R. If you have time could you give me some advice on that one too? Echostar 9 is so close that I think that's why I am having trouble zeroing in on G10R. Thanks.

with only one cable coming in, you cannot split it to 2 boxes and expect to get opposite polarities on both boxes. You would need 2 lines coming in

if two different polaritys are desired then you would need a dual lnb and two coax , one for each receiver , they still would watch the same satellite.
to watch a different satellites (at the same time) you would need a second dish or a Toroidal for both dishes (with dual lnbs)

OK , thanks for the info. That answers my questions on this subject except what dual lnb would you suggest for the winegard 76 cm dish.

I might be off because I'm so new to FTA, but I think your killer app would be to get an Invacom QPH-031 (dual linear + dual circular) and a 22Khz 4x4 multiswitch.

Run all four lines into the multiswitch and then from there, you can send out independent signals out to up to 4 receivers (cable sold separately, batteries not included :D ).

Right. But if the "master" receiver is turned off the "slave" will receive everything as normal.
