I have had plenty of success working the 129 on a plus dish. It's about peaking the 118 not the 129.

I fine tune on the 118 before locking the dish down....
this seems to be the best method to insure good sigs on all sats..
for clarity here's how I do it..
Peak on 119..then look at strengths on 129 and tweak if necessary.
then I fine tune the 118.7...
Using this procedure I am getting sigs on the 118 no lower than 70 on the weakest TP's..129 is a breeze
Good luck

I had a somewhat difficult install.

The installer brought a Dish 1000+ but was never able to get the 129 sat but the other three sats were locked in just fine.

At first, it was because he didn't have the LNB installed for the 129 sat (cough cough), but after that still was unable to pull it in.

A few days later, he (actually his boss -- yet another story) installed a separate dish for the 61.5 sat and that worked beautifully.

I'm happy with the separate dish for 61.5. It's on the back of the house and LOS will never be an issue. If the dishes were on the front or side where it would be more viewable it may be more of a concern but as it is I feel it's a better solution for me.

Line of sight can be a pain for the 4 sat 1000plus.
I had to walk away from a job because the shot looked very shaky..I could have gone ahead and spent 3hrs putting the thing in only to find I had garbage signals. but why waste the time...I told the customer there was no use in wasting each other's time with this...Large trees prevented good reception..
Your case seemed to be a head scratcher for the tech..he may have thought he had a shot at 129..If I think there is a remote chance that 129 is blocked I will go ahead and look at the shot at 61.5..If that's good, I will put in the second dish....
...Yes sometimes we forget stuff. Everyone does on occasion....I try not to ..Especially if the jobs are a good distance form the office...
