I know some of you out there are still using Satfinder. I got a new laptop and had to re-install. I noticed today that he updated the software recently.

The change log pretty much just says that it was updated to use the later Java 1.5 which seems to be the case as the software doesn't really look all that different. It's supposed to have better performance, but I didn't find it particularly slow to start with ;).

Anyways, I'm off to fix the satellite list!

Someone posted a fixed list (updated to current names, etc), recently.
You might find that one and use it as a starting point.

I did my own re-arranging of the data files a year ago to better serve my needs, but have not tackled it lately.
So long as the birds still live at the same position in space, I don't really care what they are called.

And I agree, the old program wasn't slow - though it did take a moment when it first comes up.
Some things just don't improve with a bigger computer or a faster Java under them - they are just fin as-is :)
