There are many channel changes that will be occurring during May, 2007.

May 1, 2007

USA will be available on sat G3, I do not know the VCN yet, but will update as soon as I know.

On or about May 15, 2007 all the following channels will relocate from there
current locations to satellite G3:

Lifetime
Hallmark
CMTV
Vh-1
Wpix
WXIA
AMC
MTV E
Courtv
TVLand
A & E
CNBC
MSNBC

On or about May 15, 2007 Sleuth will become available on Sat G3

Wealth TV, should be available anytime, we are just waiting on a tier bit from ACC.

This was posted on another forum by a loyal NPS employee. Basically everything is going to G3.

Yes. Currently NPS has those 4dtv channels on G9 (127 degrees) that they reuplink, and look worse than Dish Network on a good day might I add, they are moving those to G3 as well as those on GB (Galaxy 11) are moving to G3 as well too. NPS cramming like 13-16 channels on one transponder, which is just going to make them look just more ridiculous than they look now. They haven't given the Virtual Channel Numbers yet but all are supposed to be up and running in May on the 4dtv boxes.

Which I suspected this move for them because I am sure (IMO) that they may end up on the same TP as the Dish Network locals that are on this satellite as well, it will save money for them to cram everything on one TP and give the customers crappy quality in return. But I guess we will wait and see.

They can do what HBO does with the distribution feeds on G-15 with the 7/8 FEC but then all those people with undersized and mistuned dishes will be crying that they get nothing but snow.

I appreciate that NPS is trying to bring channels back to the 4DTV. But like you said that the quality is really bad. I had them on G9 for a while and let it run out. The picture quality especially on WPIX was terrible. I subscribed to TV Land from SRL now on X4 the PQ is much better.

If they combine the G9 and GB feeds that's bad enough, but if they cram them together with the Dishnet locals we may as well just all get 13 inch tv's to watch them on. That will only be the way to watch anything but digital artifacts.

I think that the 7/8 FEC also requires more bandwidth if they follow HBO at the 29270 SR.

I don't know how much you can cram into a transponder at the 19510 SR 3/4 FEC and still look good? I saw ABC Family one day ITC on G5, they use 19510, 3/4. They looked absolutely breathtaking. I think only 2 channels, ABC Family and Disney are in that mux though.

You are correct that the HBO FEC causes problems for most. Im receiving them at 99 quality but that took alot of time and effort to achieve.

Ya man the Disney mux on G-14 is great, I also seen them itc at one time, I really hope we get access to them, I am very sad that we will not get the distribution feeds of usa and all on G-15.

I saw Disney the day I saw ABC Family, it looked just as good. I don't know if we'll ever have access to those channels. (IMO) I guess NPS is going to squeeze USA into there supersized overbloated mux on G3 there working on.

I guess one can always hope for the occasional treat when a master is ITC. I have my generics programed and check them time to time hoping for a treat.

I added some channels with NPS today that includes some of the G9 mux. I forgot how overly compressed they are. I was comparing them to the HITS channels on X4 that I have. HITS wins hand's down. Sharper clearer less mosquito noise and macroblocking. The NPS mux really has alot of macroblocking.

I wonder how much more bandwidth HITS uses than NPS? There both using 19510 3/4. HITS has up to 12 channels in a mux. Right now NPS has 11 channels in there G9 mux but looks worse. So they have to be scrimping on bandwidth. I hate to see what G3 will look like unless they use at least 2 transponders. One thing that I always enjoyed with my big dish was the great picture it delivered. I hope NPS will take picture quality into consideration on the new G3 mux or muxes.

Hate to bring the bad news but on the other forum, the NPS employee has also updated on the ABC Family/Disney issue, he said it was DEAD, and said that they had no luck with getting those masters on G-14 (G5). I am appreciative that NPS is trying to keep cband alive, but it basically boils down to the fact that they are not wanting to invest the money into master feeds, the ACC (which controls authorizations and new channel maps for 4dtv), and effort into making the masters available--anyone can get a contract with any network -- if you have the money!

However, I have seen ABC Family ITC, as well as those USA Networks on G-15 (G1) ITC, both muxes are amazing. Its a shame and downright pitiful what they are doing. But if a miracle happens, the new channels on G3 may be in good picture quality, we'll have to wait and see, but I am not holding my breath.

HITS is somewhat better to me, and better than the NPS reuplinks hands down, feet down, everything down! Before long the ADP package will probably be the Absolute HITS Package....LOL!

To bad on the Disney front... I can barely watch the HITS feeds never mind the NPS over compressed uplinks, so far I am lucky, I only sub to distribution feeds (and love them) I get HBO and Sho as a big boxing fan, well I like movies to so I also get Starz, I get my programming per year and have been happy with my big dish on a subscription base for longer that I can remember, I really hope we will have access to the main distribution feeds that the 4dtv is compatible with again but sadly I am seeing them drop off every few months :(

Um, tr 7 is where the west coast feeds to the networks NPS offers to Dish Network, so add another 4 channels to TP 7, I will believe it when I see it.

Here's a snapshot on 99W. Not sure what channels these are. If you have another KU TP you want a snapshot of let me know.
