As the title says, will a Slimline fit on an AT9 mount? Is the diameter of the mast the same for both? I want to replace a dead Andrews AT9 with a slimline, but I don't want to have to reset and level a new mount if I don't have to. Thanks,

Rob

The actual dish face is supposed to have the same hole pattern to fit the mount. That dosen't mean it will still be aimed for Ka reception. After posting this answer the backing plate has to be different because the LNB mount is separate on the slimline so the skew plate would have to be the common point.

The back plate is the same.
The only difference is the reflector, Lnb arm, and Lnb's. Your answer is more complicated then is has to be.

Like Jimbos said. Yes it fits on the same pole or mast.

My AT9 also fit a Channel Master Gain Master pole. I had the Gain Master 3 LNB dish to help with rain fade and tree leaves. AT9 fit right on no problem at all.

So if I understand this correctly you can just unbolt the old dish from the actual mounting bracket (the part that bolts into the oval dish),leave the bracket mounted to the poll, and just change the dish and LNBs...

I hope this makes sense...

Someone please can you answer this ?

Thanks

NO,
That will not work .... When we were talking about placing it on the mast, we were talking about the PIPE, you cannot change out the reflector and expect it to work, I highly doubt that the bolt pattern is anywhere close to fitting, also the reflector is a different shape.

It's the same. The part that attaches the reflector to the backplate might be different.

You could unbolt the reflector from the backplate, but that would be more work then it's worth. I only talking about going from a AT9 to an AU9.

Are the two bolt patterns the same ?
The reflectors are drastically different, I would think that the pattern might be different. (I don't have a AU-9 to compare with.)

I think you are confusing the backplate with the LNB arm assembly. The part the connects the reflector to backplate and LNB arm.

Ok, probably ...
You've got it covered and as I mentioned before I have not had a slimline yet, I've seen them, but not installed one yet.

Jimbo

The Slimline uses a different LNB arm so you would need to remove the backing plate for the AT9 it is a one piece LNB assembly. The Skew plate (3 bolts attach to backing plate) would be the common point.

The other thing to remember is that the LNB arms for the AT9 are manufacturer specific and are not interchangeable. The LNB arms for the AU9 Slimline are interchangeable.
