External HDD for 622

Maybe this site should disable the search function then as well as stop making threads "sticky". No need for FAQs then either.

What's this search function you mentioned and what are FAQs?

:D

They don't need to be turned off, they are invisible already, apparently...

As much as some of you like to post in repeat threads and complain that they are repeat threads (also helping to keep them alive instead of ignoring them), Id figure you guys would need a new hobby if newbies quit re-asking questions.

Newbies are newbies and arent going to change. Why continue to gripe in every single thread. For every newbie you covnert to using search, 10 more will ask the same question.

This has been discussed to death already, please use the search tool and complain in the appropriate threads.

I mean come on...

:D

I know, I just tend to type before my brain registers what Ive posted. :D
And you should. I am part of many forums and none of them have the "Hall room monitors" this one has. I am here to learn and help and if someone asks for help, and I know the answer, I'm going to give it. Besides, these folks seem to believe the search function of this forum is more than it really is...not good.

Heres how I see it:

9 out of 10 newbies dont use the search function until they get used to forums.

Those 9 out of 10 are generally busted on by the old guys who have been on a forum for a long time. While I agree with the old guys and the fact newbies should read into forum rules, I am not going to begrudge a guy because he didnt use "search".

I posted a topic a few weeks ago that I had forgotten already had a thread, the first 4 or so replies busted my balls, thats not the way to go about it.

Granted the OP did get testy after his questions were answered, but thats another issue all together.

My point that I think you missed...I've "searched" for many things in the past, and you get many links that have many pages and you can spend way too much time trying to get the answer.

Replies 2, 3 and 6 all told you the same thing. Apparently you want information hand-delivered ?? Sorry, ain't gonna happen. People aren't big on the idea of re-answering the same questions over and over when threads, with these answers, are already out there.

If you have an issue with answering questions, why do you even post at all? Why not just ignore his post, and move along to something 'new'.

That's not the point. Using your logic, NO ONE should respond in the threads such as "New 622 feature coming" and should start their own thread asking about the same thing. Someone else, not me, created the concept of FAQs. Why ?? 'cause people ask common questions. I understand that people are "new" to something but they're likely not the first to be new at this, hence their question has most likely been asked, and answered, before (many times before it made it into a FAQ). There's no FAQ on this subject, right ?? The next best thing is a sticky thread....

well....I lurk here now...because I did a search in the forums, couldn't find what I was asking about, and got a bunch of smart a$$ stuff about it.

have you ever done a google search? sometimes you get what you want, sometimes you don't. you might try some variations, but still are....well lost.

it's good to know that you guys realize this...or don't.

Ok who told someone to usethe search button? :)

We don't do that here (or like to anyways)

Sometimes it happens, but thats ok. No ones perfect. :D

Welcome to SatelliteGuys!

With my logic, people who didn't want to answer somebody's question would just keep on reading and not responding. People who don't mind taking the 2 minutes it takes to respond...would do so.

There is no logic anymore - OFFTOPIC spreading nonsense all around.

Scott, can Mods manage the thread right ? Just move last 20 posts to Pit Stop or like that !
